God often works through the most unexpected conversations.

Recently, Renier had the opportunity to speak with a man. During their conversation, he felt led to ask a simple but profound question:

*"Who do you think Jesus is?"*

That question opened the door to a sincere and honest discussion about faith, pain, and God's character.

As they spoke, it became clear that the man had experienced deep hurt and disappointment, particularly after the passing of his mother. He shared that he had lost his faith in God after being exposed to teachings that presented a distorted view of Christianity. He had come to believe that faith in God should guarantee health, prosperity, and protection from suffering. When life brought tragedy and hardship, he felt abandoned and disillusioned.

This is one of the dangers of the prosperity gospel. It can create expectations that God never promised. Instead of presenting Jesus as our Savior who walks with us through suffering, it can portray Him primarily as a means to personal success, wealth, or comfort. When trials inevitably come, many people are left questioning God's goodness, doubting their faith, or believing they have somehow failed.

By God's grace, Renier was able to share the true gospel: that Jesus Himself suffered, was rejected, and died for our sins; that He never promised a life free from pain, but He did promise His presence, His peace, and the hope of eternal life. The Christian life is not built on the absence of suffering but on the presence of Christ in the midst of it.

They prayed together, and there was a noticeable sense of peace as God's truth brought comfort and hope.

Please keep this man in your prayers. Ask the Lord to continue revealing Himself to him, healing the wounds in his heart, and drawing him back to the truth of the gospel.

All glory belongs to Jesus Christ.

🌿 Introducing Quest to Restoration 🌿

For many years, God has given us the privilege of serving Him in ministry. Renier has been involved in full-time ministry for 14 years, and Joey for 11 years. Throughout this journey, we have shared the Gospel, discipled believers, trained others in ministry, provided pastoral support, and served communities in practical ways.

Today, we continue that calling through Quest to Restoration, a Christian non-profit ministry dedicated to bringing hope, restoration, and practical care through Jesus Christ.

Our heart is to help people:
✝️ Encounter Christ
📖 Grow as disciples
🙏 Receive prayer and pastoral support
❤️ Experience healing and restoration
🌍 Be equipped to share their faith with others

Recently, God opened a new chapter in our ministry. While volunteering at a Place of Safety, we developed a special bond with a little boy and, after much prayer, have begun the process of becoming his foster parents. We believe God is calling us to love and care for one child at a time while continuing the ministry He has entrusted to us.

As a faith-based ministry, we depend on the support of people who share our vision. We are launching our 250/40 Campaign, trusting God for 40 people who will partner with us through a monthly gift of R250—or any amount they feel led to give.

Every prayer, every share, and every contribution helps us continue bringing hope and restoration through Jesus Christ.

📖 OUR DECLARATION OF FAITH

At Quest to Restoration, everything we do is rooted in God's Word and centered on Jesus Christ.

Our faith is built upon the truth of the Bible, the grace of salvation through Jesus Christ, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the call to share the Gospel with the world.

This Declaration of Faith reflects the foundation of our ministry and our commitment to glorifying God through evangelism, discipleship, practical care, and restoring hope to those in need.

We believe that true restoration is found in Jesus Christ alone.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Thank you to everyone who supports, prays for, and partners with us as we seek to bring hope, healing, and restoration to individuals, families, and communities.

Sometimes we forget how powerful a simple conversation can be.

Yesterday, Renier had the opportunity to speak with at least eight different people about Jesus, listening to their stories and asking how he could pray for them. One encounter reminded us of a beautiful truth: God is never limited by the barriers that seem impossible to us.

He met a man who spoke limited english. In the past, this might have been the end of the conversation. But through the God Tools app, Renier was able to share the Gospel in the man's home language, Zulu. He then showed him the Jesus Film app, where he can continue learning about Christ in his own language.

As I reflected on this, I was reminded that God's heart is for every nation, tribe, and tongue. What may seem like an obstacle to us is simply another opportunity for God to reveal His power and love. The Gospel was never meant to be confined by language, culture, or circumstance.

Technology often receives criticism, but yesterday it became a bridge that connected one person to the message of eternal hope. We are so grateful for tools that help make Jesus known to those who might otherwise never hear the Good News in a way they can understand.

May this encourage you today: God can use ordinary people, simple conversations, and unexpected tools to accomplish extraordinary things. Never underestimate what He can do when you are willing to say, "Here I am, Lord. Use me."

Sometimes God leads us in unexpected ways.

While I was out doing evangelism, I felt prompted to wait in a parking lot. A short while later, two young men pulled in with their bakkie and began working on their engine. I sensed the Lord leading me to speak with them.

As we talked, I discovered that one of them was a believer, while the other was not. I had the opportunity to share the Gospel with him. He wasn’t ready to make a decision for Christ yet, but he said he wants to search for the truth and is now actively reading the book of John.

Please pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal Jesus to him in a real and personal way. God is still drawing people to Himself every single day, often through simple moments of obedience.

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” — Romans 10:14

May we never underestimate what God can do through one conversation, one act of obedience, and one seed planted in faith.
