Title:The Fear of the Lord is Pure
True fear of the Lord isn’t an anxiety-filled captivity—it is a pure, holy reverence that drives us to live according to His Word. In contrast, the fear instilled by satan binds us with anxiety, causing us to murmur, complain, and interrogate God rather than trust Him.
This was the tragedy of the Israelites in the wilderness. Though physically liberated, their carnal mindsets remained enslaved to fear. Instead of acknowledging God’s sovereignty, they tested His patience with grumblings that acted as inverted prayers. This serves as a critical warning: God answers prayers, but answered prayers do not equate to a close relationship. He looks past our words and responds directly to the motives of our hearts.
Our attitude during trials and tribulations will either work for us or against us. When we are unsettled and joyless, it reveals that we do not truly know God, the source of our joy. While anxiety demands answers, a person who fears the Lord acknowledges His goodness even in the storm.
As we approach the throne of grace, let us remember that God is in heaven and we are on earth—so let our words be few, our hearts be pure, and our lives be dedicated to fearing God and keeping His commandments.
