As Christians, we are the ones who can be called born of God. We are children of God meaning that we have been begotten by Him; we are born of Him. This means that we have overcome the world! Victory is certain for us – in life and in death. No work of the enemy can ever prevail over our lives and we can have confidence about this because we know that we are born of God.

No, it is through the Spirit of God we are able to love live God, have peace in times of distress, and operate with a clear and sound mind. These are not things of the world; they are part of God. Consider it a precious advantage that the Holy Spirit dwells in you.

Life and godliness come from the lips of those who embrace and walk in godly wisdom. But those who choose to be wicked and focus on perverse things will always partake in unwholesome talk that will never profit a soul. Their words will only corrupt themselves and anyone who decides to try to embrace what they say.

Correction is an important part of our growth as Christians. From the day we become saved, we have things in our lives that need to be worked on and improved. God is the one who helps us through this process, mostly by correcting us of our erroneous ways. God takes delight in those who take correction because it shows that they are willing to follow His guidance in their lives. A major part of loving God is being obedient; taking correction is a part of that obedience.

The Jews of Jesus' time understood about the glory of the Messianic Kingdom, but they seldom understood that the Messiah would also suffer and die for the sins of the world. When Jesus openly declared this, Peter began to rebuke him and say these things must not occur. But Jesus rebuked Peter. Jesus came into the world to be God's suffering Servant and to lay down his life as a ransom for many.

God isn’t here to condemn us – even though we deserve it as a result of our sinful nature. From the beginning of time, even after the fall of Man, God has always been there for those who call out to Him. Before Jesus came to the earth, the Israelites were always falling into trouble as a result of their unbelief and disobedience. They even worshipped idols. But when they cried out to God for help, He would never hold it against them. He would rescue them and set them back on their feet time and time again.

Moses told Israel that their ability to take and keep possession of the promised land would depend on their obedience to the commandments of God. But they could not pick and choose which commands to obey and which to omit, it was required they keep "all" the commandments.
