“Father of everlasting compassion, you see your children growing up in an uncertain and confusing world: show them the path of life, enable them to triumph over failure and frustration, to hold fast their faith in you and to keep alive their joy in your creation, through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Almighty and Everlasting God

Today we stand in awe and gratitude as we celebrate 70 years of Your faithfulness to St Cyprian’s Church. From the first gathering of Your people in this parish until this moment, You have been our Rock, our Shield, and our Provider. We thank You for the countless blessings poured upon this community — the sacraments received, the prayers lifted, the songs sung, and the lives transformed in Your name.

Lord, we honour the vision and labour of those who planted the seeds of faith here, the clergy and lay leaders who served with devotion, and the generations who kept the light of Christ burning brightly. We thank You for the children, the youth, the families, and the elders whose presence has shaped this parish into a living testimony of Your love.

Gracious God, as we mark this 70th anniversary, we acknowledge that it is not by our strength but by Your grace that we have come this far. With hearts overflowing, we say: “To God be the glory, great things He has done!”

Bless this day’s celebration, O Lord. May it be a memorial of Your goodness and a springboard into the future You have prepared for us. Strengthen us to remain a beacon of hope, a sanctuary of peace, and a house of prayer for all nations. Guide us, Lord, into deeper discipleship, greater service, and unwavering witness to Christ our Saviour.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Amen.
