Dear Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ

I come to you with an open heart, pouring out my thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I lay before you my joys, sorrows, fears, and dreams.

Lord, I give you my heart, with all its complexities and contradictions. I surrender to you my doubts, worries, and anxieties. I trust in your love, your wisdom, and your goodness.

Please hear my cry, dear Lord. Listen to my whispers, my sighs, and my tears. I need your guidance, your comfort, and your peace.

As I pour out my heart to you, I ask that you would fill me with your presence, your joy, and your love. May your Spirit renew me, restore me, and revive me.

In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

We need to choose who we follow while we still have time

Do all things without murmurings and disputings:That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world; Philippians 2:15-16

Complaining and grumbling is a serious offense from God's point of view. The Israelites were guilty of this in the wilderness wanderings, when despite God's daily provision and leading, they murmered in their tents. Lack of thankfulness will dim our lights and hurt our witness to the dark lost world around us. We are made the light of the world. It is our mission to shine out his righteousness in the midst of an unrighteous society.

Let's pray

Forgive us, O Lord, for our grumblings. Let us be made aware of all you have done for us and continue to do for us each day, and make us thankful of heart. By your grace, let us shine the light of Christ in a crooked, perverse nation that has turned its back on you. Let men see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven. In Jesus Christ mighty name Amen

Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: 1 Thessalonians 1:11

As believers, we can pray for other believers. That is what Paul, Silas, and Timothy did for the church in Thessalonica – they prayed for them. Do you have other believers in your life whom you can pray for? It would probably encourage them if you texted them or asked at church next Sunday, "Is there anything I can be praying about for you? " Even if they don't tell you a specific thing to pray for, you can still pray that they will live out God's calling on their life, that they will experience God's goodness, and that God will empower them to do the work He has called them to do.

Let's pray

Lord Jesus, I pray for my fellow believers. I pray for individuals in our church. Strengthen them. Grant them strength to do the work You have called them to, and give them endurance so they can finish their race well. Let them experience Your love and goodness this week. If they are feeling tired or ill, heal them. If they have stress or anxiety, grant them peace that surpasses understanding. If they have relational troubles, give them wisdom and grace to repair relationships. You are a God with mighty power and works. Work through us, Your Church. In Jesus mighty name. Amen.

For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. Psalms 37:28

Every gardener knows that one of the secrets to healthy plants comes from cutting away the dead parts. When the leaves begin to wither and turn brown, that part of the plant has died and needs to be pruned. The dead parts can contaminate the healthy plant and if the gardener refuses to prune, the entire plant could die. In this passage, God is the gardener who must "cut off" the descendants of the wicked. He does this to protect the "godly ones"--the healthy part of the plant. He does this because He is just God and wishes to "preserve" us forever.

Let's pray

Father, Thank You for protecting and preserving us. You have promised to cut off the wicked so that they will not prosper. We do not have to fear their descendants because You have pruned them away. In Jesus name Amen.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 1John 4:16

Sometimes it is much easier to love someone than to allow someone to love us. Having someone love us often puts us at a disadvantage. We must then allow that person do something for us. We become dependent on that person. We are in some way "beholden" to that person. It is a prideful position to be in. Allowing ourselves to be loved means believing that we deserve to be loved. It is essential that we learn to allow God to love us. So many people miss that crucial point. They don't believe they are deserving of God's love, or of His mercy. They believe they must somehow "earn" His love. It is difficult for them to accept His gift of grace. It is faith alone that allows us to believe that, even if we are undeserving, God loves us anyway. When we can accept this undeserved gift of love, then we can truly learn how to love.
