📖 Romans 8:28

Inspiration of the word:
As children of God, we can take everything that comes our way with confidence because we know that all situations will always work out for our good. We know we love God and we are assured that we have been called according to his purpose, so we know that there will always be a turnaround in every negative situation that comes our way. It is well with our lives, our health, and our wellbeing. There is no plight that can ever overwhelm us because we dwell in Christ.

Prayer:
Dear God, I simply want to express how grateful I am for this gift of assurance I have because I am in Christ. Whenever trouble comes my way, I do not collapse, because I know that I remain solidly on your foundation. It is well with my soul because of your faithfulness, O God. Thank you, Father, for this precious gift of salvation that has totally changed my life. I am at rest because of your love, O Lord. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

Night devotion

1 Peter 3:15

Many Christians are content to just be passive Christians. They sit on the pews and soak in the sermons, stand when they are told and sing along with the worship team. But ask them to pray out loud or comment in a Sunday School class, and they are tongue tied. Peter tells us here that we must always be ready to tell people why we believe and what we believe. When we are out there in the world--at our job or our school or at the market--we won't have time to call our Pastor or Worship Leader to help us witness to someone. We have been called to defend the hope we possess. Read your Bible, study scripture, practice praying out loud….whatever it takes to be able to give an "account" when the time comes.

Morning devotion 🔥

Dear God, I desire to turn from my sinful ways completely and never look back to them. I know that there is no joy in those ways so, I turn to you, Father. Thank you Lord for always being there to help me with your love, your guidance, and your patience. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

There are times when the gospel message doesn't fit into our way of thinking, and this is one of them. How are we expected to "love our enemies?" Jesus offers us an answer when he tells us to pray for them. So often we think of love as just an emotion, something we have no control over. While it is true that we can't always control our feelings, we can control our actions, and love is a function of the will, not the heart. We are not expected to have gushy feelings for those who attack us, our country, our way of life, the people we love, but we are expected not to take action against them. If we do, are we just as wrong as they are? I have always found it ironic, that people use violence to bring about peace. IT DOESN'T WORK!

Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Jesus, did not resort to violence. Do we realize that our enemies are still God's children loved by him just as we are? God does not want us to hate, but to love. Prayer is a very powerful force. All we need to do is look at the changes brought about over the years by constant prayer. At Fatima, Mary promised that Russia would return to her and her son if we prayed. It may not have happened as quickly as those of us who can barely wait for water to boil would have liked, but it happened. Change doesn't happen overnight, but is does happen – one loving heart at a time. We can begin with our words and move on to our actions. Words of prayer and love can open the stoniest of hearts. As the song says, "Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me."

Amen ❤️🔥🔥
