I’d like to focus on the last sentence of this verse, “ Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”
John 20:27 NLT
Today let’s look at Faithless believer , “a doubtful person “
The bible has a lot to say about doubt. Satan’s oldest trick in his book is placing doubt in our mind, in hopes of throwing us off the track of salvation.
Genesis 3:4the woman said to the serpent, “From the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat; 3 but from the fruit of the tree which is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat from it or touch it, lest you die.’” 4 And the serpent said to the woman, “You surely shall not die! 5 “For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Therefore if we learn anything from this major event it would be to never doubt the word of God. Doubt is the opposite of having faith.
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
Romans 14:23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.
Numbers 14:11The LORD said to Moses, “How long will this people spurn Me? And how long will they not believe in Me, despite all the signs which I have performed in their midst?
Deuteronomy 1:32 “But for all this, you did not trust the LORD your God, And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
John 20:28-29And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.
