Connecting/Fellowship is one of our core values at Rivers Church, and our Connect Group model is designed to help you meet new friends, get to know others and build lifelong relationships with like-minded people. Connect groups bring people together around friendship, connection and with the option of an informal word study. We believe that everyone should be part of a Connect Group, to build rela
tionships, to feel a sense of belonging. They are held in casual settings; like homes, cafés and restaurants where you can enjoy a meal, coffee or an activity with good friends. Hebrews 10:23-25 GW We must continue to hold firmly to our declaration of faith. We must also consider how to encourage each other to show love and to do good things. We should not stop gathering together with other believers, as some of you are doing. Instead, we must continue to encourage each other even more as we see the day of the Lord coming. Connect Groups also play a vital role in meeting the needs of the poor in our community by working together on social justice projects. As Christians, we must be willing to disadvantage ourselves to advantage the poor, as the Lord Jesus Christ and the early church did. If you are not in a Connect Group you are not helping in caring for the needs of the poor and assisting on social justice projects to help alleviate the plight of the poor and the vulnerable! Connect Groups are the vehicle for supporting the Rivers Foundation for all planned social justice projects that assist our beneficiaries and also caring for the needs of the vulnerable! We encourage everyone to get involved in these projects and help make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. Click here to see some of the recent projects we have been involved in. Proverbs 31:8-9 MSG Speak up for the people who have no voice, for the rights of all the down-and-outers. Stand up for the poor and destitute!"
Bringing people together - together making a difference! New Connect Groups are always being formed and each has a different grouping of people of special interest. Browse our group listings for both our campuses to find a Connect Group in your area or one that suits your interest.
