TOPIC :JESUS THE GAME CHANGER -PART 3
Text : LUKE 5:1- 10
Good morning family , Calvary greetings .Trusting that you all had a blessed and wonderful weekend . Yesterday I finally finished the series I have doing on the topic mentioned above .I would have finished the other week if it wasnt the disruptions of the venue over the last two weekends.
"So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, and saw two boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. Then He got into one of the boats, which was Simon`s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, "Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch." But Simon answered and said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net." And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus` knees, saying, "Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!" For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken; and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men."
Yesterday I shared 4 last points which I will summarise here .
1) " Put out into the deep waters and let down the net to the other side " v.4
- Do what He tells you to do .
- Don't argue with God's instructions.
2 ) " But because you say so " ( v.5b read also Isaiah 55:8- 11 )
- God can't give wrong or destructive words or instructions .
- Spiritual things often don't make sense e.g God asking Abraham to sacrifice this only beloved first born son .
- you can imagine the conversation between Abraham and Sarah when he got him to inform her kkkk lol
3 . The importance of Strategic partnerships V.6-7 ) read also Psalm 133:1-3 , Genes 11: 1- 9 )
- They signalled to their partners to come and help them .
- True success can't be enjoyed alone
- No one can achieve success or great achievement by doing it alone .
- We must avoid the temptation of going solo/becoming arrogant and proud once we start doing well .It's usually a trap from the enemy.
- Don't forget those who helped you or me on our way up , we mighty need them at some point , especially when things crash down .
- Let us enjoy our achievements and Success together .
- Have you seen how often men abandon their wives who they have been married to for many many years ,once they have received their pension .The end is usually disastrous.
4) The Secret of repentance and confession of sins and our inadequacies V.8- 10.
- Peter fell on his knees and said " Go away from me , Lord : Iam a sinful man ! "
- What has catching Alot of fish got to do with repentance ? Why did he say that ? It's a strange statement indeed !
- When the Glory of God shows up , all our human efforts and imperfections show up ,but they also disappear once we encounter God's glory , power , and presence .
- Peter realised this was a different and higher level , experience .This was a divine encounter and moment .
- Let us allow the Glory of God , the presence of God to manifest so that we can continually do introspection of our lives and activities .
I urge us to listen to the audio message In order to again catch somethings from there ,not for my sake or to make me feel better or be pleased , but for our own benefit ,blessing and inspiration . I usually listen to my own messages for my own spiritual inspiration , growth but also to see where I can improve and be a better Minister of the Gospel and Communicator .
