So with choosing to follow God, we learn that God actually has a plan for our lives, but God staying true to His nature, gives us the choice as to whether we answer His call and follow the plan or not. The thing is that we don’t always listen for God’s call, and even if we do we often don’t even know what He is calling us to do, and if we are even qualified to do what He wants us to.
First things first, you need to answer the call. You need to know, understand and believe that YOUR life has purpose and God has a plan greater than anything you could ever imagine for yourself. You are called.
We are all called to do something for God and we all have an important role to play in God’s master plan.
Then the next thing you need to know and understand is that YOUR calling has nothing to do with you. Yeah, you read that correctly. So I know, this might confuse you a little, and maybe seem a little contradictory, but your calling is not about you. It’s about what God wants you to do so that He can reach others. Your calling isn’t for you or your benefit, and if you think it is, it’s time for a change of mindset. So once you understand that your calling is about God and His people, you’ll begin to understand that everything you do is going to be for other people, not you. So if you don’t do it, you’re not just ignoring God, but you’re also depriving people of the opportunity to meet God because you’re not living your calling and well, no one else can live out your calling for you.
Lastly, don’t you think God would have given you the things you’ll need to fulfill your own calling. I am pretty sure He thought through His own plan. That’s like someone asking you to get them water without giving you a glass to put the water in, it just doesn’t make sense. Of course, most of what you need has been placed inside you already, because God knows you’re going to need it, but some of the things you’ll need to fulfill your calling God has already planned for you to attain through life. A really cool quote I came across was “God does not call the qualified. He qualifies the called.” So even if you’re not “qualified” now, can you trust that God will do what only He can do to “qualify” you?
Will you answer the call?
