๐Ÿ”ด "The Christian is not a man called to obey God."

That statement may sound shocking to many Christians.

โ—๏ธWhy?

๐Ÿ”ด Because most people have come into Christianity carrying over the mindset of religion. They assume that Christianity is simply another religion built on rules, commandments and human effort.

โ—๏ธBut that's not the Gospel.

๐Ÿ”ด When you study the Word of God, you'll notice that the word "promise" doesn't always refer to something God will do in the future. Sometimes, it refers to something that has already been givenโ€”a present reality to be enjoyed now. Sometimes it's a declaration. Sometimes it's a gift already made available.

๐Ÿ”ด So you have to understand what the Scriptures actually mean in their context.

๐Ÿ”ด If you think all of God's promises are conditioned upon certain things you must do before you can obtain them, then you don't yet understand who a Christian is.

๐Ÿ”ด The Christian is not someone trying to qualify for God's blessings through obedience.

โ—๏ธHe is one who has already been brought into God's grace through Jesus Christ.

Sadly, many Christians have never been taught these truths. They entered Christianity with the assumptions of their former religion.

๐Ÿ”ด Everything they previously believed about relating to God, they simply carried into Christianity.

โ—๏ธBut Christianity is not a religion.

๐Ÿšจ It is the life and nature of God imparted to man.
