Beginning of Christmas tide.
On Christmas day we lit the "Christ Candle" for in Him is life, and the life is the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overtake it. Hallelujah! Emmanuel is here! Hallelujah!
Our youth also shared the story of the birth of Christ through a play.

Jesus shows us God's perfect love. He is God's perfect love in human form. Those who believe in Christ, live in love. Love transforms and perfects all things. It never ends.

This is how God showed His love: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. (1 John 4:9)
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. All men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another. (John 13:34-35)

God is love. We thank God for HOPE God gives us, for the PEACE God bestows, for the JOY God pours into our hearts, and for the LOVE that redeems us and shows us the way.

We lit the candle of Love, and we believe in the transformative power of Your love. May the love we experience from You, O Lord, inspire the love we extend to others.

On this 3rd Sunday of Advent, as we think about the coming of Jesus Christ, we lit the candle of Joy. When Christ comes into our lives, He brings the fullness of joy. He anoints our hearts with the oil of gladness. (Isaiah 61:3)
The light of the new candle reminds us that the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and that we who are saved by the Living Word must proclaim that Word by what we say to and do for others every day.
When Jesus was born, the angels said that His coming was good news of great joy for all people. (Luke 2:10)
Christ came, and is coming again, so that all people might have a rich and abundant life. We thank God for the HOPE that Christ gives us, for the PEACE Christ bestows and for the JOY Christ pours into our hearts.
