Strengthening Missional Disciples
Author: Dr. Pemella Zulu-Moema
Theme: The Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ
Scripture Foundation
John 19:30 – “It is finished.”
Luke 24:6-7 – “He is not here; He has risen!”
Devotional Message
The cross was not the end—it was the doorway. Jesus’ death was the ultimate sacrifice, breaking the chains of sin and reconciling humanity to God. His resurrection is the triumph of life over death, hope over despair, and mission over stagnation.
As disciples, we are not called to remain at the foot of the cross only, but to walk in the power of the empty tomb. The resurrection commissions us to go forth, proclaiming liberty to captives and life to the nations.
Missional Strengthening Focus
Death reminds us of surrender: laying down our own ambitions for Christ’s mission.
Resurrection empowers us with boldness: rising to proclaim the gospel in every sphere of life.
Passover is our reminder that we are covered by the Lamb’s blood, set apart to serve as ministers and leaders in a hurting world.
Reflection Questions
Where do I need to surrender afresh to Christ’s mission?
How can I embody resurrection power in my community this week?
Who is God calling me to reach with the message of hope?
