“He uncovers the deeps out of darkness and brings deep darkness to light.”
job 12:22 esv
This is the motto Scripture for the ministry, which can be called prophetic deliverance in a nutshell. This speaks of the prophetic part of the ministry, where the evil spirits' presence are revealed by the Holy Spirit. The prophetic ministry in the New Testament is also meant for strengthening, encouragement
and comfort (1 cor. 14:3). This arm of the ministry therefore says to people in bondage: "take courage, there is ALWAYS hope in Jesus, you WILL be set free, no matter how deep you are trapped in darkness!"
The second half of job 12:22 speaks of bringing the darkness to the Light. This speaks of the deliverance part of the ministry: removing the demonic powers as well as mental strongholds in people's lives. The ministry identifies with the leopard as a metaphoric representation. Leopards can see in the dark, are afraid of nothing they see there and are the most efficient hunters on land. This remarkable animal beautifully represents what darkness to Light is all about. In terms of whom we are ministering to, we have the following mission statement:
1. To reach unbelievers caught up in the deepest depths of darkness with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, pluck them out of it, and bring them to Jesus, the Light of the world (john 8:12).
2. To set Christians free from bondage to enable them to live life to its fullest (john 10:10) and be effective in their service to Jesus Christ. The motto Scripture for part 1 is:
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;”
isaiah 61:1
The motto Scripture of part 2 is:
“save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.”
jude 1:23a
