This Academy weekend was all about songwriting, exploring the creative process and discovering that writing a song is more accessible than many of us think.

In this video, Andiswa shares how she never imagined she could write a song. After this weekend, she's leaving inspired, equipped, and excited to give it a try.

We love seeing our students grow in confidence as they step into the gifts God has placed inside them. We can't wait to hear the songs that will be birthed from this journey. 🎵✨

✍🏾 Modular Worship Academy Weekend 8 | Songwriting

This weekend at Modular Worship Academy, we explored the beautiful gift and responsibility of songwriting with Mike.

One of the key takeaways was that the Hebrew word translated as "meditate" carries the idea of muttering—quietly speaking, repeating, and declaring God's Word. As songwriters, we have the incredible privilege of helping people meditate on Scripture through the songs we write.

A song can do so much more than sound beautiful—it can plant God's Word in hearts, shape our thoughts, and draw us into deeper worship long after the music has ended.

What a powerful reminder that writing songs is about partnering with God to create melodies that carry His truth.

✨ Week 7 at Modular Worship Academy ✨

This past weekend, we explored the gift of creativity and what it means to create in partnership with God.

Through teaching, practical sessions, and meaningful conversations, we were encouraged to step beyond our comfort zones, embrace fresh ideas, and celebrate the unique ways God has wired each of us to create.
Between the learning, laughter, and shared meals, we were reminded once again of the beauty of growing together in community.

We're grateful for all that Week 7 brought and excited for what's ahead as Week 8 is coming up this weekend!

As Erica shared, the Modular Worship Academy is for everyone. It’s not just for those on worship teams because worship isn’t limited to a platform, it’s a lifestyle.

And because it’s a lifestyle, it’s something we can all grow in, learning to live with intention, awareness, and hearts aligned daily.

Week 6 at Modular Worship Academy

We leaned into what it means to be perceptive to notice well, to be attentive, and to grow in awareness. To not rush past moments, but to truly see, hear, and discern with intention.

Our desire is to become more like Father God who sees fully, knows deeply, and is never distant or unaware. And as we grow in perceiving well, we grow in reflecting His heart more and more.

May we be a people who notice. Who listen. Who are present.

Here’s a glimpse into Week 6 at Modular Worship Academy ✨

Looking back on that weekend, we’re reminded of just how meaningful it was to gather with intention.

We were invited into rich teaching and hands on practical sessions centered around listening and agreement. We leaned into the discipline of listening well through exercises, creative expression, and moments that stretched us beyond our comfort zones.

We were reminded again that it’s not only about what we say, but how we listen, how we discern, and how we come into alignment with one another.

Between the learning and the laughter, the drawings and the deep moments, we also shared lunch together because community matters just as much as everything we’re building.

Grateful for every moment, every conversation, and every heart in the room.

We’re so looking forward to Week 7, coming up soon.

Week 6 at Modular Worship Academy

A simple but powerful reminder: listening is a skill.
God gave us two ears and one mouth, a gentle invitation to listen more than we speak.

Because in listening, we don’t just hear people, we make space, we show love, and we grow in wisdom.

Sometimes the most powerful thing you can bring into a room isn’t your voice, it’s your ability to truly listen.
