If Jesus was to come to the church today, I believe He will bring His whip to chase those who have made the church the market place where desperate people are buying items for the blessings that Jesus died for at the cross. Some pastors are so desperate for crowds, prophecy and miracles that they are willing to buy charms in the marketplace. The church of God is under siege and it's time to expose deception in the body of Christ. Jesus and the apostles never sold the blessings that were given for free by Christ at the cross. We need to have discernment and spiritual eyes open. These impostors do the same things we do, sing the same worship songs we sing, preach from the same bible we read and it's not easy to detect them because everything they do seems scriptural, their prophecies seem to be true etc. we need to be careful children of God. We are living in the last days. The fact that a so-called prophet can tell your name, your cell number, house address etc. does not mean He's from God. The magicians of Pharaoh did the same miracles of a rod turning into a snake done by Moses. Wake up church of God.
It was nearly time for the Jewish Passover celebration, so Jesus went to Jerusalem. In the Temple area he saw merchants selling cattle, sheep, and doves for sacrifices; he also saw dealers at tables exchanging foreign money. Jesus made a whip from some ropes and chased them all out of the Temple. He drove out the sheep and cattle, scattered the money changers’ coins over the floor, and turned over their tables. Then, going over to the people who sold doves, he told them, “Get these things out of here. Stop turning my Father’s house into a marketplace!” Then his disciples remembered this prophecy from the Scriptures: “Passion for God’s house will consume me.” (John 2:13-17 NLT)
Then Naaman and his entire party went back to find the man of God. They stood before him, and Naaman said, “Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. So please accept a gift from your servant.” But Elisha replied, “As surely as the LORD lives, whom I serve, I will not accept any gifts.” And though Naaman urged him to take the gift, Elisha refused. (2 Kings 5:15-16 NLT)
When Simon saw that the Spirit was given when the apostles laid their hands on people, he offered them money to buy this power. “Let me have this power, too,” he exclaimed, “so that when I lay my hands on people, they will receive the Holy Spirit!” But Peter replied, “May your money be destroyed with you for thinking God’s gift can be bought! You can have no part in this, for your heart is not right with God. Repent of your wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive your evil thoughts, for I can see that you are full of bitter jealousy and are held captive by sin.” “Pray to the Lord for me,” Simon exclaimed, “that these terrible things you’ve said won’t happen to me!” (Acts of the Apostles 8:18-24 NLT)
