The Holy Spirit Came - The Only Criteria Was Faith in Jesus

Many people think the Holy Spirit is a "level two" blessing reserved for super-spiritual Christians.

But in Scripture, the common thing between those who received the Spirit at Pentecost and the Gentiles in Cornelius's house was simple:

They believed in Jesus.

Paul asks:

"Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?" (Gal. 3:2)

The Spirit is not given because you've prayed harder, performed better, spoken in tongues, or reached a certain level of holiness. He is God's gift to those who put their faith in Christ.

And here's an important test: the Holy Spirit always points people to Jesus.

"He will glorify Me..." (John 16:14)

The Spirit doesn't come to make us obsessed with spiritual experiences. He comes to make us love Jesus more.

If you have trusted in Christ, the Holy Spirit lives in you. Don't spend your life chasing a "second blessing" as though the first one wasn't enough.

Walk in the reality of what God has already given you.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother in Christ, Mvuselelo Jerry Masilela.

Mvuselelo lived a life of faith, served the Lord with devotion, and touched many lives through his love, kindness, and fellowship. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in the hope we have in Christ, knowing that he has finished his race and has gone to be with the Lord.

Please keep his family, friends, and loved ones in your prayers during this difficult time.

The Ascended Lord...
That the Lord Jesus ascended to glory means that the work of redemption on earth has been completed. His words on the cross, "It is finished" (John 19:20) meant exactly that.
You need nothing to be saved but faith in Christ alone.
