Message Title: The Revelation Of Unity (The Perfected Love)
Let us continue our message as we are on our series teaching and accessing the greatest dimension of power. We are going for something that prayer and fasting cannot bring, and this does not only bring the dimension of power but sharpens authority.
Scripture reading: 1 Corinthians 12:14-23(AMPC)
Verse 14 - Our Father is the God of diversity, for God honours diversity, uniqueness and difference. He is not a God who necessarily want all of us to be the same, as many conclude about Him. God wants the you, not you trying to be somebody else. He saved you so that you can become yourself again, that’s how much He loves you; because there was no you. So He had to save you that you may continue to be yourself in Him, that’s how much He loves you.
Verse 14 - Look at that verse, it says the body does not consist of one organ. There are different types of body parts, their difference does not make them to become many bodies, but to make them to form one single body.
The eye is different, there is no human part of the body that functions like the eye. I said to us last week that when the eye is blind, they don’t say your eye is blind- they mention the entire body as a blind person. They are labelling the entire body because of the eyes. Yet when the eyes are fully functional it is to the advantage of the entire body.
I made an example that even that smallest toe on the feet, if it hit the corner of the door you will realize that this is a single body and you will see how the body becomes united to carry the one small toe. The entire body does not reject the small toe because it is badly injured. You will see how the body is so united in sharing the entire pain of the toe because the entire body will be limping.
He says - “Father I pray that You do not take them out of the world, but make them one just as We are one,” but do you know what is going to cause the prayer of Jesus to be answered? The question is how can the body that is already one not be one? It means the church is one but, in their mind, they think they are different and standing by themselves. The problem is not their parts of the body, but the problem is their thinking.
Why do the LORD Jesus pray such kind of prayer? The last prayer He prayed before being crucified He said – “Do not take them out of this world, but make them one just as we are one,” because that’s where power starts. If you want to go fast go by yourself, but if you want to go far connect yourself with others, unity is power.
He says – “One shall chase a thousand, but when two comes it is not two thousand; but it is a ten thousand.” Look at the massive revelation of power that the scripture is showing us.
Verse 16-17 - Paul is teaching us something that is important as a church. If all of us can be prophets and open ministries who will attend those ministries? The strength of the church is not in number but it is how united they are. I am not despising the high number of people, of course the more people we have the more advantageous it becomes.
I want you to get this, the prayer of Jesus is so important that He said if they can be one then we have archived the purpose of establishing a church which is called the body of Christ.
He says – “How will the world know that you belong to Me?” It says – “When you love one another,” not when you tell each other; because people can tell each other when there is no such thing.
When you love each other, they will know that you belong to Me. There is nothing that can be impossible for us when we are one, there is no amount of anointing that we will lack and miracle that will not be performed when we are one. There will be nothing that will be difficult and it won’t be dependent on the pastor, but the power that is produced by unity- when the body is healthy the parts function at ease.
Verse 18-22 - Now listen to the wisdom, he says rather this is what the body does, the body knows how to cover the parts which are weak the most.
Verse 23 – He says there are body parts where there is no honour in them and those very body parts are the ones that we give honour the most. Remember he is not talking about the body, but figuratively speaking he is explaining to us what is happening in the church. He is explaining that the church is not a place of perfect people, there are going to be some who have weaknesses and some they are going to be of ignoble.
He says the body is so smart it does not neglect the weak and ignoble but it put honour and automatically covers. Why is it that when the small child lifts up his hands you won’t find any hair under his armpits? Its because he has not reached that stage but when that stage comes you will see by the body producing a blanket to cover.
There are those parts that we say they are private, the moment that body part that we declare as private is now ready to function to its potential, then the sign will be there- the body producing a covering. Yes, the body has intelligence to say now it is time because this is the part of the body that is most ignoble.
Verse 23 – it says we invest additional honour. He says those are the human parts of the body that you cannot just reveal, and those body parts have special clothes.
Remember what we are talking about is what the scripture is teaching about, you see that’s why I tell you many believers are not yet ripe in understanding, what shows that they are not yet ripen understanding?
If your husband or your wife has weakness and you go around exposing those weaknesses, the moment you do that, those who are still young and do not have maturity will laugh; but those who are matured this would give them concern and wonder if the spouse is okay mentally. It is either he/she is still a child or something is wrong mentally.
In the Spirit how do we tell you are matured? Is when you’re recognizing the function of the church, when you understand you are not here for a pastor or people who worship nice. The moment church has a meaning to you then that is the sign you are growing Spiritually.
One can pray eight hours and we find that person laughing about everything in the church and still be immature, that is why a child is not held responsible for things.
I want you to understand these things we are not doing them for each other, it was the prayer of the Master. The moment Christians get the revelation of oneness they will stay long on this Earth. He says “Don’t take them out of the world but make them one”
Verse 23 -So, we give too much attention to those body parts we cover the most. You can’t influence the world when you are not one, this is the mystery of oneness. I told you if you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far learn to hold hands with others and get the revelation of unity.
A sign you are coming to grow is when you recognize responsibility. Many believers don’t understand the role of the church and if they don’t understand, it means they are still children in the things of the Spirit.
We are not hear to worship a prophet, but we are here to worship Jesus. The one who worships a prophet there is something wrong with him/her.
Scripture reading: 1Corinthians 3:1(AMPC)
Verse 1 – He says “In the new life in Christ you are still babies,” yet at Home Affairs you are grown or can be a pensioner. John 3 Nicodemus come to Jesus says – “How can a man be old as me return back to his mother’s womb?” I like the answer of Jesus, He says - “You are a teacher of the law and I talk to you about Earthly things yet you don’t understand, how much more about if I start to teach about Heavenly things.
What makes you valuable in the body? Its when you are fully functional to your potential. There is not even a single person who God can say this one is not important. Every person serves a purpose according to God’s plan; there is a way you can be concerned about issues of men and seems to forget about the most important thing, and you don’t realize you are destructed.
Every day you come to church you must hear what the LORD is saying to you, not what people are saying, “Let he who has an ear hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches”. So, the Spirit is speaking every day to the church, but the people are intermingling with the affairs of human and become destructed. It says “Nobody who serves as a soldier get entangled with the affairs of the civilians”.
Paul says when you become mature as a believer, you will be able to differentiate those who are civilians and those who are soldiers.
You can be at the same church and taught by the same prophet, but it does not mean we are the same, others are required to act as soldiers. All the orders are coming from the same LORD. Others when they are in pain we run and comfort them, and others they must learn there is an access and the way to the Father.
Depending on being prayed for will not take you anywhere in the body of Christ. Yes, your father in the LORD is a prophet, but that’s not the way of God for your life, and that doesn’t mean you must stay as a child, you must learn to man up.
David when he went to the cave of Adullam the Bible says he was alone and nobody could encourage him. Prophet Nathan was there but God didn’t allow him to comfort David; because there was a certain season David was entering and in that season he must learn how to hear the voice of the Father. He says “When I was alone, deserted, I encouraged myself in the LORD.” He must learn how to hear the voice of God for himself.
“I lift up my eyes to the hills, but where does my help come from? My help cometh from the LORD, He who made Heaven and Earth, He who watches over Israel does not sleep nor slumber”. He learned the revelation of encouraging himself in the LORD.
When you go to a doctor and the child is 7 years old and he cannot talk and pronounce words well. The doctor will not say that’s how he is, they will say something is wrong and the child has a speech delay, he has to go to a special place and learn to talk as long as he is in this world.
There are some Christians they are not fully functional and do not know their duty, Jesus is looking at them and say when are they going to pull up? When are they going to realise their importance? Because let me tell you the truth, when the eyes are perfect and the ears are perfect, but the nose does not smell the whole body is going to be affected.
There are works of services that are required from every believer inside the church, but there are people who are coming to the church who don’t know what they are supposed to do. Which part of your body that you can say it is doing nothing?
The fact that you don’t see the liver and kidneys it doesn’t mean you don’t have them and not functioning, but rather everything inside your body is fully functioning.
Every one of you people and all of us we are going to appear before the judgment seat Christ, and He’s going to ask us a question - “What did you do with what I gave you and how much did you build?” Not as a pastor but all of us, because there is a place where you are supposed to build as a believer and the LORD expect to see a progress.
They are entertaining church politics and we are here to put our contribution into the building of the body of Christ. Spiritual men are men who have come to realise their responsibilities.
How will we know a girl child is now growing to become a matured daughter? We will see by being responsible, the minute she comes back from school and realise the house is dirty she will not wait for her parents to inform her to clean. As she grows up she will do everything without anyone telling her anything.
What shows that she is really becoming matured she will even stop reporting that she have cleaned the house, the moment she do that is a sign she is a daughter in the house and understanding her responsibility in the family without expecting payment for what she has done. If you are still giving to receive something from the LORD we have to go back and check if you are really growing in the house of the LORD.
In the book of Luke 16 Jesus says “After we have done everything, we must come carrying the spirit of a servant in the heart of the son, and we must approach the Father saying we have not done anything that you should owe us anything; but we did exactly what is required of us, we are unworthy servants.” So, after you give, pray and fast, have the same mind-set.
If your daughter can ask you “But I cook in the house, why don’t I still have a phone?” It means this one has a mind of a slave and not grown into understanding.
People of God the house of God is a legacy, there are people who are going to continue where we left when we are gone in this place. It is the order of God and how He has designed it to be, because we must be able to realise that this work is greater than us and the work will outlive us. If Jesus tarries to come back then more ministers will arise and the gospel will continue to proceed, because this is the work of God not man’s work
Scripture reading: Genesis 11:1-7(AMPC)
Verse 1 – This is where Unity begins, in language and accent. Are you aware that there are certain people who speak your language, but even though they speak it you can still hear that this one is not from your culture, because of a different accent? Listen to what the scripture is saying it says - “They were of one language and of one accent”.
Verse 2-4 – There is a vision that we put down and we must run with it, but the vision doesn’t only need finances but a language.
Verse 4 – This people are speaking one language, they are not saying let us build for Him; but for ourselves. You see up until we look at this church and say we are doing it for ourselves, and stop saying we are doing it for God, we will still be religious.
Have you not heard what God says in the scriptures? He says I do not dwell in temples build with human hands. We have to have a change of mindset in us and understand the revelation of oneness. The moment we can become one, we can all call upon the anointing and it will come for us. One person calling for the anointing may experience delay in the coming of the anointing but if people are united and they are crying for a matter the answer to those people becomes quicker than the individual prayer .
Are you aware if we can stop wanting to become rich individually, but start to desire to become rich as a church, then the mantle of wealth is going to come much quicker? There are certain things in God cannot be accessed individually- wealth is not for the individual in Christ, but for the church because there is no church where one person prospers.
There is no way in a church where there is only one person who sees, if only one person is seeing then we know that the rituals are in behind the scene; but if the Spirit is behind the seeing several people will start to see. What I am saying is for us not for me.
Do you know there are projects in the body of Christ that are meant for individuals among us, but do you know there are also other projects that are not meant for the individuals but for the church? There are certain projects we can only achieve them as a ministry.
Why is the Lord Jesus delaying to come? Because we have not yet understood the revelation of oneness. As long as we are separated as a church, we are not only delaying a church, but also delaying ourselves. We must desire everyone to become successful.
There is a certain wealth God cannot give to you because your mindset is for a house, it is not a community mindset, and it is going to be a waste in the kingdom of God to give the wealth of a community to one person.
It matters to God how you prosper. The bible says “He has translated us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of His dear Son;” the kingdom has its own currency and its way of doing things.
If He has brought us to His kingdom then we are going to rely on the resources of His kingdom. What delays greater anointing is selfishness and isolation.
Verse 5 - I want you to hear the confession of God, of what made Him to come down. It was oneness behind the project. It was not about materials, but the mindset and language they spoke.
Verse 6 – God is exposing the strength of these people, what they want to do seems impossible but it was possible for them. They wanted to build the tower that reaches to Heaven, and wanted their neighbour to be God in Heaven and God knew they were going to do it.
I told you about this tower of Babel, these guys they didn’t just find a place, but there was a specific place in the wilderness that was a Spiritual portal and they built there. Jacob saw that portal and said “I saw a ladder that reaches to the Heavens and Angels were descending and ascending”.
God is giving us the revelation of oneness and says nothing that they imagine will be impossible for them to archive. Every church that is big in the nation it has one language.
Verse 7 - God says cancel this project by making sure they speak differently. What am I teaching about? The Power of Unity. If you want to go fast go alone, if want to go far go for Unity.
Scripture reading: Acts 4:24-35(AMPC)
Verse 24-30 – Look at that – “One united mind to God”, this was the prayer of the entire church praying one prayer request.
Verse 24 - Do you see this? This is powerful
Verse 30-31 - Why today we no longer hear there was a shaking when people are praying? Because they are not praying with a united mind.
We must be united in mind, remember the example I started by and said the entire body will carry the pain of the small toe? We must love each other in the church.
The problem with many believers they think our God does not see. He says “Can the one who created an ear not hear and can the one who created eyes of man not see?” If we knew that Jesus can see and hear we would stop criticizing, judging and condemning.
Remember last week’s message, it says “Don’t judge, criticize and condemn” believers who criticize, judge and condemn are the ones who don’t know that they are committing the biggest sin, and the biggest sin they are committing is not against people they are talking about; but against the God of those people.
He says – “Why do you judge a servant of another master?” It means they are undermining the authority of that master. They are not ripe in understanding, they are still babies, they are just concerned about praying and making noise and don’t understand real matters.
Verse 31 – Remember not only the Apostles prayed, but they all prayed and the Holy Ghost filled all of them, even the one who is doing business was filled.
God told Moses saying there is a guy who My Spirt has come upon, I have given him the wisdom and the skill he is going to be a sculptor. When we pray and the Holy spirit comes, when you are prophet you prophecy , when you are a worshiper you worship, when you are a business man business idea comes on you and those who are at school are given understanding to understand their school subjects. All of us need the Spirt of God, but you guys think the anointing is for pastors to cast demons. If you are going to take over where you are working you need the anointing.
Remember what is going to bring this anointing is not a pastor but when the church is united. The bible says “When they heard these things they were one in mind and begin to pray, and when they prayed the anointing of God came down- that is how the church functions.
Jesus has given His power to the church, but the church does not know how to access this power, it comes by the revelation of oneness. Paul says let me show you the most excellent way “if you have no love, you are nothing”. You must start seeing the person seated next to you as special before God.
The revelation of Unity, there is no dimension of power we will not see when we become one. The strength of the church is when we are one
Verse 32-35 – I am just showing you the things that move God, God cannot just be moved by one individual. Paul teaches it and say you will not be idle in the LORD, you will not be somebody who is unproductive in the LORD.
When you know these things there will not be amount of power that will not be entrusted unto you, Angels will guard you because you are a vessel of love. When you become a vessel of love you do not mind what is being done to you but you mind the contribution you are doing in the church.
Love covers multitude of sins. When the father saw his son who was a rebel with wild living and who squandered his wealth. When he came back the father understood that by exposing his son he is exposing himself. He required for the fattest animal to be slaughtered and said the one who is dead he is now alive and the one who was lost he is now found.
When the younger son saw the nakedness of his father, he turned his back and didn’t want to look, but took a blanket and went looking backwards and covered his father. Where else on the other hand the eldest brother when he saw the nakedness of his father, he called others to watch with him and they laughed.
Verse 35 – “They brought all the wealth to the feet of the apostles and it was distributed to the needy who were there.” The revelation of oneness
People who cry for positions never have power, look at Stephen when he was stoned, he caused Jesus Christ to arise, but he never had a fancy title in the church.
God’s power will come down and make everyone great according to the special calling that the LORD has given in Christ Jesus. The revelation of oneness is power. “One shall chase a thousand and two ten thousand”. May the LORD bless His WORD in the midst of our hearts.
