A Mark of Honour, Love and Forgiveness!

Today’s Scripture
"It is an honour for a man to cease from strife…" (Proverbs 20:3, AMPC)

If we realized the destructive force that strife is, we would be more careful to not allow it into our relationships. It can creep into relationships by starting small, maybe through a comment or a wrong look from someone, and can then escalate into something much bigger. When we let our guard down and say things that are disrespectful, hurtful or demeaning, we’re not just damaging our relationship, we’re inviting the destructive spirit of strife into that relationship. But when you choose to cease from strife and overlook an offense, you are acting honourable and honouring God. How do you avoid strife? The Bible tells us that love covers over many offenses. Love stops strife. It means that you give people the benefit of the doubt. You consider what they may be going through instead of focusing on how they reacted to you. Maybe someone was short with you at the office, but they may have a loved one in the hospital. Instead of getting upset, walk in love—be patient and kind to them. Look for ways to walk in peace with the people in your life and put an end to strife. There are people who are always negative and hurt others: they may be aware or aware. The key to this is love and forgiveness; there are the features of Christ. Emulate Christ to avoid strife!

A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for Your hand of victory in my life. Give me the wisdom and courage I need to walk away from strife so I can focus on the destiny You have prepared for me. I love You and bless You in Jesus' name. Amen

Faith Comes By Hearing!

Today’s Scripture
"So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
(Romans 10:17, NKJV)

Do you want more faith? Well, the good news is that your faith in God can grow and increase. Notice the Scripture doesn't say, "Faith comes by having heard the Word of God one time." It's hearing—in the present tense. Sure, God's Word can transform us in an instant, but most of the time, we need to hear God's principles over and over again before they become active in our lives. The truth of God's Word chisels away at the doubt and unbelief that's been built up over the years. Just as a seed needs water daily to grow, your spirit needs the Word of God daily. Get in the habit of meditating on God’s Word and dwelling on thoughts of faith, victory and hope. The more you fill your heart and mind with God’s Word, the stronger you will be so you can stand against the powers of darkness. God's Word is the source of life, encouragement, strength when we're week or depleted by pressures of this world. So we should be in the habit of reading the Word to strengthen our faith in God!

A Prayer for Today
"Father in Heaven, thank you for Word that is living and active and growing in my life. I submit myself to you today and ask you to teach me your ways. Give me insight into your Word so that I may know you and have faith in you. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

Daily Benefits!

Today’s Scripture
"Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits..." (Psalm 68:19, NKJV)

This morning when you woke up, what was the first thing that went through your mind? Maybe you have a deadline to meet or a big appointment at work. Maybe you are facing a challenge or going through a difficulty in a relationship that seems to consume your thoughts. Today, I want to encourage you; instead of focusing on what your circumstances have to offer, focus on what God has to offer you. His mercies are new every morning, and His compassion never fails. He has victory in store for you today; He has provision in store for you today; He has joy in store for you today, and He has peace in store for you today. He daily loads you with blessing!

The key to accessing these daily benefits is setting your focus in the right direction. You can’t wait to see how you feel, what kind of mood your spouse is in, what the traffic is like, or what the stock market is doing. No, you have to choose to set your focus by saying, “This is going to be a great day. I am blessed and cannot be cursed! I know God is directing my steps; something good is going to happen to me today!

A Prayer for Today
"Heavenly Father, today I choose to focus on You. I open my heart and mind to receive Your daily benefits. Show me ways to be a blessing to others and a good example of Your love in Jesus’ name. Amen."

Worry not, Give thanks!

Today’s Scripture
"Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:6.

Father we thank You for giving us yet another day to live. It's all because of Your grace, not that we deserve it. Some wanted to see this day but they didnt. We appreciate the gift of life you have given us.

Life is full of challenges. People encounter them in one way or another. It can be at home, at work, businesss, school etc. When the challanges come, they disturb your peace and your joy and cloud our mind with negative thoughts which result into worry. The word worry means to disturb the peace of mind or afflict with mental agitation.

The word of God says that we should not worry but in all things we should make our request known unto God, through prayer and petition with thanksgivings.

It is in the area of worry where satan takes advantage and hold you hostage, and once you entertain it, you'll be stuck living unhappy life which will result into depression. That is the plan of the enemy. His aim is to steal, kill and distroy (John 10), but Jesus give us life abundantly.

The minute the negative thought comes into your mind as a result of whatever situation you may be faced with; go to God in prayer. He said that we should cast all our cares/worries unto Him for He cares for us. He also stated that His burden is light so we should carry His instead (Matthew 11:28).

Let's learn to trust God with our worries regardless of the course. Jesus died so we can live a happy life. He gave us peace that surpasses our understanding, and it guards our heart and mind. Sometimes one need to come to a place where you laugh at and resist satan when he tries to throws stones at you and he will flee.

Replace thoughts that courses you to worry by speaking the word of God. In so doing you will win. It is God's desire for us to live life without worries. Choose to rejoice in the Lord always and worry not.

A Prayer for Today
"Father God thank you for choosing and protecting me. Thank You for giving me another day. I declare as of today to speak positive words and dismiss all negative thoughts in Jesus Mighty Name Amen

Laugh a Little!

Today’s Scripture
"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken! spirit saps a person's strength." (Proverbs 17:22, NLT)

God has given you a great prescription for living a long, healthy and happy life: Laugh, and laugh a lot! The "medicine" of laughter is within everyone, but you may need to start taking it. Recent studies have shown that laughter boosts the body's immune system, reduces stress, reduces the risk of heart attack, and even acts as a natural tranquilizer. Those are health benefits everyone needs. That's why it's tragic to go through life with a stone face. The enemy has convinced too many into thinking that they need to be somber and serious in order to be a Christian. But don't fall for that trick. God wants you to laugh and live well!

A Prayer for Today
"Lord, thank You for a sense of humor and for laughter. Teach me how to enjoy this wonderful gift and share it with others in Jesus' name. Amen."

Handfuls on Purpose!

Today’s Scripture
"And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the LORD your God." (Deuteronomy 28:2, ESV)

Our God is a rewarder of those who seek Him! When you keep God first place and do your best to honour Him, Scripture says, “His blessings will chase you down and overtake you.” That means you will come into increase, promotion and good breaks that you didn’t necessarily deserve. That’s God rewarding you for walking in His ways.

We see this principle in the Old Testament with Ruth. She was out in the fields following behind the workers and gathering up the leftover wheat that they missed. She was trying to take care of her mother-in-law, Naomi, but they were barely surviving. One day, the owner of the fields told the workers to leave handfuls of wheat on purpose for Ruth. Ruth came into blessings that were simply dropped at her feet.

Every one of us can look back and see times where God has left us handfuls on purpose—something that we didn’t deserve or even ask for. We just stumbled into it. That’s a “handful on purpose.” I encourage you to always keep your expectancy up. Keep trusting God and obeying His voice because He is ready to bless you in unexpected ways today!

A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness in my life. I trust You as my provider; You are the One who cares for me. I acknowledge You with my love and thank You for leaving me 'handfuls on purpose' today in Jesus’ name! Amen."

Enjoy the Journey!

Today’s Scripture
"But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day." (Proverbs 4:18, ESV)

Oftentimes, people tend to get wrapped up and busy with things that don't really matter in eternity. It's easy to get consumed by your career and stay focused on your goals. It's good to work hard, but you've got to learn how to play hard, too, so that you can stay in balance. I heard somebody say, "It's not that life is so short, it's that we wait so long to begin living." If we want to truly enjoy the journey of life, we have to take time to stop and smell the roses. Do you appreciate the people you love? Do you hug your children before you leave each day and give your spouse a kiss probably on the wedding day in front of the pastor and congregation? When was the last time you called your parents to tell them how much you love them? That's how we can enjoy the journey.

If you'll stay determined to enjoy the journey of life, you'll live with no regrets. You'll see your path shine brighter and brighter, and at the end, you'll be able to say, "I made the most of my life. I enjoyed my family. I enjoyed my friends. I finished my course with joy."

A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for the people You have placed in my life. Teach me to enjoy my relationships more because they are all that matter in eternity. Help me to enjoy the journey of life as my path shines brighter and brighter until the full day in Jesus' name. Amen

Written on Your Heart!

Today’s Scripture
"They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts..." (Romans 2:15, NLT)

In the Old Testament, God’s commands were written on stone tablets and kept in the tabernacle. Today, when we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, we become His temple. He lives in us and engraves His promises and commands on our hearts.

How do we know? This verse goes on to say that it’s because your conscience, or inner man, has a more powerful knowing of what is right and what is wrong. It becomes more clear what you should and shouldn’t do. Because you are drawn to follow the Word of God, you know that the Spirit of God is on the inside of you, guiding and directing you. Every time you follow His leading, your ability to hear and know Him is strengthened. However, if you choose to bypass that prompting on the inside, your heart can become hardened which will affect your ability to hear Him in the future.

Make the decision today to follow that inner leading of the Spirit. He always has your best interest at heart. He wants you to stay close to Him. He wants you to follow Him which is why His promises are written on your heart!

A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for making Your home in me. I acknowledge that I am Your temple! Help me to clearly follow Your leading all the days of my life that I may honor You in all I do in Jesus’ name. Amen."

God's Grace is Sufficient for Me!

Today’s Scripture
"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness'..." (2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV)

Sometimes there are days when we feel weak or overwhelmed or depressed. But God has given us His grace to carry us through these difficult times and empower us to move forward in victory.

Scripture says God’s grace is sufficient for us. The word sufficient simply means competent, enough or qualified. That means you always have whatever you need by His grace. You will never face anything that God’s grace cannot empower you to move through. We serve a God who is more than enough, and His grace is more than enough, too! Anytime you feel weak, remember, when you rely on His grace, that is when you are at your strongest. When you feel like you can’t go on, that’s when He will carry you by His grace.

Today, remember, no matter what you may be facing, you’re not facing it alone. You are not without hope, you are not without resources, and you are not without answers because His grace is sufficient! His grace is all you need to be equipped to move forward into His victory.

A Prayer for Today
"Father, thank You for Your sufficient grace. Thank You for empowering me and equipping me no matter what I may be facing. Today, I lift my eyes to You for You are my help. I receive Your grace for everything I need in Jesus’ name. Amen."

Created to Thrive!

Today’s Scripture
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10, NIV)

So many people today are living in “survival” mode. They have a mentality that says, “If I can just make it through…” or “If I can just get by…” Of course, there are some seasons that are more difficult than others. Sometimes it’s challenging to get a vision for the future. But if you are constantly living with a survival mentality, you are missing out on God’s best. Scripture doesn’t say, “Jesus came so you could survive.” No, it says that He came to give you a full, abundant life! If you are living in survival mode right now, I believe that today can be your turning point. If you’ll take a step of faith and begin to declare, “My days of survival are over; my days of thriving have begun,” then I believe God will meet your faith. I believe He will open an unexpected door. He’ll pour out His favor and blessing on you. He’ll make a way where there seems to be no way! Even if you’re in a tough time right now, remember tough times don’t last, but the Word of the Lord stands forever. Begin to declare what God says about your circumstances because you are created for more than to just get by—you are created to thrive!

A Prayer for Today
"Father God, thank You for giving me abundant life through Jesus Christ. I believe that You have a good plan for my future. I declare that my days of thriving have begun as I continue to put my faith and trust in You alone in Jesus’ name. Amen."
