Our sincerest and heartfelt condolences to the Reis and extended Family on the loss of their wife, mother, daughter, aunt and friend. Dearest Ceu, you leave a huge hole in our community and we were extremely blessed to have been able to collaborate with you at the church events. You were a fighter right till then end. May you rest in the peace of the Lord, and may the Lord comfort your family during this time. Till we meet again. RIP Ceu

Something new and exciting will be happening after Easter. We will be having "Theology on Tap". A new exciting venture in the faith. Basically it’s chatting about our faith in a relaxed setting with drinks. There will be a topic chosen for the evening and a priest or subject matter experts. Hi PIE family 😁 so today we get back into the swing of things with Prayer Group this evening at 7:15pm. With Lent being just over a week away (already?! 😱) we will uncover what Lent is all about and have a discussion on how to better prepare ourselves to have a fruitful Lenten period.

Peace be with you! And don't jump out the window!

I love how the post resurrection appearances of Jesus are told. Both last week and this week (3rd Sunday of Easter - Luke24:35-48) we heard how John and Luke told of Jesus appearing. In both cases, I think the room where Jesus appeared must have had great burglar bars, because if Jesus appeared and the doors were still locked – I certainly would have jumped out the window and run screaming down the road!
This' Peace be with you' is a peace in anxiety, disbelief, joy, incredulity. It’s a personal peace as it’s a personal presence – the presence of the Lord Jesus. The Disciples had just walked back to Jerusalem from Emmaus at Night (remember how fearful the Night is!) filled with a new courage, but the same old fears remained too. It needed the retelling of the Story for Jesus to appear.
In our own lives, with their concerns, anxiety, joy awe etc, we need the retelling of the Story of Jesus to bring us peace – a peace that leads to fearless feeding and then mission!
