Leading the way

We receive weekly donations from the community that needs to be distributed to residents for their enjoyment. Our manager, Elsa Steenkamp, tested out the new Sara Stedy, whilst handing out magazines. Residents thoroughly enjoyed the fun delivery method, and the magazines.🙃🙃🙃

Knitting frenzy

📷📷Our residents have always enjoyed knitting, but during this lock down we have not been able to keep up with the demand for wool, as they knit with extra vigor. We are still participating in a community project where we knit strips, used to make blankets. These blankets are then distributed in the community.🤗🤗🤗

Keeping warm

It is always a priority to ensure that all residents are warmly dressed and comfortable, especially during this very cold Potchefstroom winter. With all children not being able to drop something off for their parents during lock down, we have dug into our good second hand clothing piles and made sure that everyone has what they need. Warm blankets were also donated by a flat resident, which was gladly received at Forget-Me-Not.🤩🤩🤩

Saying goodbye to Sr Mary-Ann Tshungana

📷Saying goodbye to one of our beloved nurses, Sr Mary-Ann, was a very hard thing to go through. All staff have been deeply grieved by her death. ICAS offered very valuable trauma counselling and we held a small memorial to say goodbye in our own way.😢😢😢

Stepping out into the sun

Residents at our frail care was excited to step out into the sun, under supervision, once lock down regulations were relaxed a bit. They enjoyed their afternoon tea in the hot winter sun and soaked in all the goodness it provides
