Announcing the passing on of Rev. Israel Langa, former Southern Region Superintendent and Principal at Emmanuel Wesleyan Bible College

Today's Scripture
“…say to her, ‘Is all well with you? Is all well with your husband? Is all well with the child?’” And she answered, “All is well.”
2 Kings 4:26, ESV

*Night Seasons*

In what feels like a night season, it’s easy to talk about the difficulties and magnify our problems. All that’s going to do is make you more discouraged and take your joy. Instead of complaining, one of the best things you can say is, “All is well.” When you say, “All is well,” you’re really saying, “God is still on the throne, and I’m not going to live upset, bitter, and guilty.” You can say it because you know the night season is temporary. You know joy is coming. It’s going to happen suddenly, unexpectedly; you won’t see it coming. You woke up, and it was still dark. Nothing had changed, but suddenly you get the break you need. Suddenly your health turns around. Suddenly you meet the right person. The light comes bursting in.

Now, don’t talk yourself into being miserable. Keep a report of victory coming out of your mouth. Every day that you stay in faith and keep a good attitude despite the darkness, you’re passing the test. Talk about God’s greatness, talk about His favor. God is saying, “All is well.”

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are the God of the night seasons. I believe that no matter what comes my way, it’s not a surprise to You, and You still have me in the palms of Your hands. I believe that though it may be night now, morning is coming. All is well. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
“Therefore Saul sent messengers to Jesse, and said, “Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.”
1 Samuel 16:19, NKJV

*Getting Prepared*

After David had been anointed to be the next king of Israel, he went back to caring for his father’s sheep. But then he was asked to come to the palace, not to be the king or an advisor, but to play his harp whenever King Saul suffered from depression. He could have thought, “Why am I being treated as a part-time musician? I am anointed.” But see how strategic God is. All David had known was the shepherds’ fields. Now he’s in the palace in the presence of King Saul. God is showing him what it means to be a king. He’s getting him familiar with how a king operates, protocols, the staff that serves him. David didn’t realize his task was divinely orchestrated. God put him there to get him prepared for where he was going.

Don’t think your place of blessing has to be exciting and so big that everyone notices. Many times, your place of blessing is being faithful with small things. God is making you and molding you, getting you ready for greater responsibility, greater resources, greater favor.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You have given me gifts and a calling that no one can take from me. Thank You that You are taking me through a preparation process. I declare that I will pass the faithfulness test of being my best and get to the place of blessing You have for me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
Then the LORD said to me, “Go and love your wife again, even though she commits adultery with another lover. This will illustrate that the LORD still loves Israel, even though the people have turned to other gods and love to worship them.” So I bought her back for fifteen pieces of silver.
Hosea 3:1–2, NLT

*Something More Powerful*

After Hosea’s wife had abandoned him and their children, she ended up as a slave to one of her lovers. Despite all the heartbreak and humiliation that her unfaithfulness had caused, God told Hosea to go after her and love her again. Others only saw a pr******te who had made a terrible mess of her life, but inside there was a daughter of the Most High God, a person of destiny who was made in the image of God. She just needed a Hosea to run after her, buy her back, and love her.

Be a Hosea and run after the hurting, go after the broken, the addicted, those who have messed up. Where they are is their own fault, but it doesn’t help to point your finger and tell them what they’re doing wrong. Go after them with something more powerful—with love, with mercy, with the goodness of God—and help them back. They don’t deserve it, but none of us did. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. You’ve been shown incredible mercy, so show that mercy to others.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You for being rich in mercy and never giving up on me when I’ve gone my own way and failed. I want to love the people You have placed in my life as You do. Help me to be like Hosea, full of grace and mercy to help lift the fallen and restore them to wholeness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
“But when David’s oldest brother, Eliab, heard David talking to the men, he was angry. “What are you doing around here anyway?” he demanded. “What about those few sheep you’re supposed to be taking care of? I know about your pride and deceit. You just want to see the battle!”
1 Samuel 17:28, NLT

*When Eliab Shows Up*

When David’s brother Eliab overheard him talking to other soldiers about stepping up and facing Goliath, he immediately treated David with disrespect in front of them, speaking condescendingly and making false accusations. When God puts big things in your heart, don’t expect all your family and friends to encourage you and cheer you on. That’s when the Eliabs show up and cast negative seeds, trying to get you to doubt, to second-guess yourself, to discredit you and make you feel small, as though you don’t measure up. Don’t let those seeds take root.

People don’t determine your destiny. God does. When He called you, He didn’t consult with your friends, your neighbors, your boss, or your family to decide if they think you can do it. Don’t get upset with them if they think you can’t do it. They’re looking at the outside. They’re judging from a human point of view, but God has put things in you that will defy the odds. His favor on your life will cause you to go places you could never go on your own.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that You are not limited to seeing me as other people see me. Thank You that You see my heart, and You have qualified me to do what You want me to do. I declare that I will not allow how others treat me or what they say to determine my value and self-worth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

Today's Scripture
O LORD, listen to my cry; give me the discerning mind you promised.
Psalm 119:169, NLT

*Discernment*

Whenever you have what seems like a good opportunity and people encourage you to move forward, it’s still important to ask God for discernment. Every good thing is not a God thing. Every word of advice is not for you. Good people can have the best intentions, but what they’re telling you may not be God’s plan for you. In the end, it comes down to what you feel in your spirit. What are you discerning? You can hear from God. Listen to wise counsel, but if you don’t feel peace about it, you may have to go against what certain people believe you should do in order to follow what God wants you to do.

Every morning we should pray as the psalmist did, “Lord, give me a discerning mind.” He was saying, “Lord, help me to tune out the wrong voices, and bring me the right voices. Help me to see beneath the surface, to hear Your voice, and make decisions that honor You.” If you’re listening to the still small voice, you’re going to have wisdom to make the right decisions.

A Prayer for Today
“Father, thank You that in the most practical ways You are speaking to me about everything that I am involved with. Help me to have a discerning mind that knows what You want me to do. I declare that I am committed to obeying Your still small voice today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

When I retire to bed every evening ruminating over life, I discovered that:

Sometimes, to succeed in life you need ENEMIES.... Yes!!!

You need people who will mock you, so that you can run to God.

You need people who will try to intimidate you, so that you can be courageous.

You need people who will say "NO" so that you can learn how to be independent...I mean how to do it yourself.

You need people who will disappoint you so that you can put all your trust in God alone.

You need people who will work towards you loosing that job, so that you can start your own big business.

You need people who will sell your 'Joseph' so that 'you' can get to Egypt and be a Prime Minister in a strange land of captivity.

You need a cruel landlord, so that you won't be too comfortable in someone else's house, then you can build your own house on time.

But sometimes, when we are disappointed, we feel very bad and we tend to remain on that spot. Not knowing that the end-point of disappointment is the beginning of your accomplishments.

Understand this, "that every disappointment you once had came with a blessing!" However, it is not everyone that partakes in this blessing that I'm talking about.

You cannot see a new OPEN door while you are still putting all your attention, time and energy in trying to force the closed one to open.

And again I say, "No disappointment can ever come without an attached blessing!"

So, when the disappointment come, thank God for it and tell "HIM" to open your eyes to see the new blessing that HE has for you!

Disappointment is PHASE 1 while accomplishment is PHASE 2. I doubt if one can jump the protocols.

That is why it is called BREAKTHROUGH Something must BREAK so that you can go THROUGH!

Encourage someone today....you are lifted.
Yea
Please don't thank me for this post but bless others by sharing this. God bless you all.

MAY THE LORD BE WITH YOU ❤️🙏
