WASH Project gains momentum across The Salvation Army Eastern Cape Division.

The Eastern Cape WASH Project has made strong strides this past week with the rapid establishment of community and school-led water, sanitation, and hygiene structures. In just seven days, Community WASH Committees were formed in Lower and Upper Mpondomise Ridge Village, Hofisi Village (Inkosi Area), Nkungwini Village (Ethembeni), and Mount Frere Downtown Location.
Four School WASH Clubs were also launched at Mpondomise, Magxeni, and Cabazi Primary Schools, and Loyiso Secondary School. On 08 June, fifty community representatives gathered for full-day WASH Committee Training from 08h00 to 15h00. The session was attended by the Territorial Development Secretary and an external finance facilitator, with Inkosi Dlamini of the Chancele Area and the Ward Councillor present.
Lieutenant John and Mrs. Mabuza supported the training, which was rated very high in content and engagement. As for the following afternoon, the project Hydrologist arrived ahead of a hydro-census assessments. Work slated to begin at 07h00 in Mpondomise Ridge due to its distance from town, continuing Wednesday at Mount Frere Corps.
