THE CHRISM MASS - 2026
Yesterday, Tuesday 31st March 2026 the Chrism Mass was celebrated at Eucharistic Heart Parish in Cambridge. The Clergy, Religious and members of the laity gathered from all Deaneries of the Diocese.

During this special liturgical celebration in the Catholic Church the Bishop blesses and consecrates the Holy oils; Sacred Chrism (used for Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Orders), the Oil of the Sick (for the Anointing of the sick) and the Oil of the Catechumens (for those preparing for Baptism), the Priests renew their Priestly promises and the Permanent Deacons renew their commitment to the Diaconate Ministry.

The gathering of Clergy from across the Diocese with their Bishop symbolizes the unity of the Priesthood and the church's shared mission of service and ministry.
