Feast of St Josephine Bakhita 🌻

As we honour Saint Josephine Bakhita, we are invited into a deeper reflection on freedom, compassion, and God’s healing love.

St Josephine’s life, marked by suffering yet transformed by faith, reminds us that even the most wounded stories can become places of grace. Her gentle strength and radical forgiveness speak powerfully to all who come seeking rest, restoration, and hope.

“The Lord has loved me so much: we must love everyone… we must be compassionate.”

May her witness guide all who pass through this sacred place.

St Josephine Bakhita, pray for us.

Make Me a Channel of Your Peace

One of the most beloved hymns of our time, Make Me a Channel of Your Peace, was composed in 1967 by South African–born songwriter Sebastian Temple.

Inspired by the Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi, this hymn has become a timeless prayer sung across churches, schools, and communities throughout the world. Its gentle yet powerful message calls us to be instruments of peace, love, forgiveness, and service, values that lie at the heart of the Gospel and Franciscan spirituality.

As we journey in faith, may this hymn continue to remind us that peace begins not only in words, but in how we live, serve, and love one another each day.

🙏 “Lord, make me a channel of your peace.”

Yes, there is an etiquette.
Mass is all about God, not you, not me, only God.
Mass is God's gift to us.
We need to show Him the respect He deserves.

AdminNote: Number one actually is not 100% correct.
You actually have to fast one hour before "receiving communion".
I realize that some people like to say one hour before "mass", but it really is one hour before receiving communion.

Code of Canon Law
919 §1. A person who is to receive the Most Holy Eucharist is to abstain for at least one hour before holy communion from any food and drink, except for only water and medicine.

If you are a diabetic, talk to your priest if you have a strict eating schedule or if your sugar is too low, your priest can pardon you on this law.
