// Navigating Times of Crisis & Opportunity ⏩

AFM Family,

As Christians and leaders, we are not just spectators but active participants in shaping the world. It is important for us to speak up and pray for our country’s stability and growth. Let us continue lifting South Africa up in prayer, asking for wisdom, peace, better services, a strong economy, and unity.

Today’s world faces many challenges. Politically nations struggle with instability, internal conflicts, and rising global tensions. Economically, people are dealing with inflation, job insecurity, higher living costs, and the lingering effects of war and the pandemic. Climate change brings extreme weather - floods, droughts, and wildfires - demanding urgent action.

Spiritually, people are searching for hope and meaning, some finding comfort in their faith, while others feel lost or disconnected. These are tough times, but they are also moments of opportunity -opportunities to seek solutions, offer hope, and make a positive difference in an uncertain world. May God help us to see and make use of the opportunities presented to us to touch the lives of people and build His Kingdom. ✝️

Yours in Christ!
Dr Henri Weideman

// Moving Forward Purposefully in 2025 ⏭

AFM Family,

Planning for 2025 is a crucial task at personal-, church-, regional- and national levels because it helps everyone move forward with clear goals and purpose.

On a personal level, planning allows individuals to set priorities, manage time, and work toward personal growth and life milestones. In the church, having a plan helps guide ministry efforts, outreach, and spiritual growth initiatives. It ensures that resources are used wisely and that the congregation with its various ministries are united in vision and mission.

National- and Regional planning is equally important, as it brings together communities, churches, and local leaders around the vision and direction of the church. It also assists in addressing common needs, improving ministry infrastructure, and creating growth opportunities. Make sure that you keep the National and Regional calendar in mind when you finalize your assembly- and personal planning.

With proactive planning individuals, churches, and communities can be better prepared for challenges, make the most of opportunities, and have a greater impact. Without planning, there’s a risk of falling behind, wasting resources, or missing out on the chance to make a positive difference.

May your planning on all of these levels be successful and blessed as we endeavour to move forward purposefully.

Yours in Christ!
Dr Henri Weideman
(President of the AFM of SA)

// A Church that is Taking Action 🖐

“In 2013, the National Office Bearers introduced a Missional Strategy called “The One AFM Game Plan” to refocus the church on its mission. After getting support from leaders across the church, the biggest challenge has been and still is, putting the main goals of the Missional Strategy into action at the local level.” – Dr Henri Weideman (President of the AFM of SA)

🔴 This morning Dr Henri Weideman reminded GBM delegates of the most important tasks of the church. This reminder was accompanied by a short explanatory video clip that presents the actions one by one – in plain and understandable terms. This video clip has no copyright and can be used by AFM Assemblies for their services, groups, or gatherings! The clip can be viewed and downloaded from the AFM YouTube Channel:

// Women's Day: 9 August 2024

The Value and Dignity of Women 🌿

We dedicate the month of August to especially focus on the significance of women in our lives, churches, and society at large. By valuing and supporting women, we honour God’s design and promote a more just and loving society.

Women are of great importance in our lives and society, their roles are profound and multifaceted. The Bible highlights the value and dignity of women from the very beginning, with Eve being created as a vital companion to Adam. Throughout Scripture, women are portrayed as strong, wise, and integral to God’s plan. Women are vital contributors to both family and church life. From the earliest days of the Pentecostal movement, women have served as pastors, evangelists, and missionaries, demonstrating that God’s calling knows no gender boundaries.

In everyday life, women are often the glue that holds families together. They offer love, care, and support, shaping the next generation with their values and faith. Proverbs 31 describes a virtuous woman who is industrious, wise, and compassionate, showing that women’s contributions are both valued and necessary. The influence of women in society extends beyond the home. They play crucial roles in education, healthcare, business, and more. Their involvement and leadership in these and other fields reflect their ability to make significant and positive changes in the world. As Pentecostals we believe that the Holy Spirit empowers all believers, including women, to fulfil their roles effectively and with purpose.

Overall, women are cherished for their unique abilities and contributions, both within the home and in the broader community. As fathers, husbands, children, sisters, and colleagues we honour and respect all women, including the young girls in our lives and communities.

Yours in Christ!
