When a tombstone is assembled and installed, one of the most important step is how the granite stone is bonded and sealed to the base. It determines how long a memorial will stay intact and how it will look in five, ten or twenty years’ time.

Some companies use cement and we understand why. It is more affordable and gets the job done quickly.

But cement is rigid and cracks with temperature changes. It also lets in moisture over time. And once it starts to breakdown, it is difficult to fix.

At TombStories, we use professional grade silicone.

It costs more. It requires more skill and patience to apply properly. But it stays flexible to move the stone. It is weatherproof and maintains a strong bond between the stone and the base.
