Apologies for the poor network during the live broadcast this evening. It was really a great joy for the monks of St Benedict's Abbey Monastery Subiaco Polokwane together with the parishners of St Maurs Parish Subiaco Mission to celebrate the Christmas Vigil Mass with the Abbot President of the Subiaco Cassiness Congregation, Your Reverence Dom Ignacio Fossas OSB and Fr Christopher OSB from Madgascar.

As we celebrate His birth,may we live like Him: with kindness, gratitude and generosity. We wish a Merry Christmas and a prosperious n ew year. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him.

Good evening friends,family and benefactors!!

Today we were graced by the presence of our Abbot President “Your Reverence Dom Ignasi Fossas OSB from Rome Italy and Fr Christoph from Madagascar for a fraternal visit to the community. Dom Fossas OSB was elected abbot president of the Subiaco Cassinesse congregation in September 2024,it is really an honour to have him visit our monastery more especially when it is his first time being in Africa.

During our office of Vespers (evening prayer) today Abbot President blessed the new choir stalls in our chapel. We wish them a very prayerful and joyful visit as we are also approaching the joyful season in the church.

May our Holy Father St Benedict continue to intercede for each and everyone of you. 🙏🙏
