‘Do not say, ‘Why were the old days better than these?’ For it is not wise to ask such questions.’

- We should live life with a forward-looking approach.
- We can pause and remember the past, but we must not settle there.
- The future lies before us with all its uncertainty and opportunity.
- You can live with expectation that God will continue to carry you.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for bringing me to this point in my life. I recognise that You have been with me and that You have carried me. I celebrate my memories, but now I look forward with confidence in You. Amen.

Nehemiah 9:12

‘By day You led them with a pillar of cloud, and by night with a pillar of fire to give them light on the way they were to take.’

- The Lord wants to lead and guide you.
- He leads us day and night and in every season of life.
- His presence gives us direction and light for each step we take.
- The same God Who guided His people still leads His children today.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for the wonderful way in which You lead and direct my paths. Shine Your light on my path and direct my steps so that I can take the path that You have prepared for me. Amen.

‘Thus far the LORD has helped us.’

- Often when we stop and look back, we can see God’s faithfulness.
- Every step of our journey is marked by His guiding hand.
- He has carried, protected and provided for you to this point.
- God, Who has been faithful before will remain faithful in the future.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for carrying me and for bringing me to this point in my life. Although I don’t always understand why I have had to face the things I have faced, I know that You have sustained me and You have been faithful to me. Amen.

- It gives God great joy to use the unlikely.
- Our weakness or lack of ability is no obstacle to God.
- He uses that weakness to reveal His strength.
- You are a perfect candidate to be used by God – let Him use you.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank You for always seeing potential in me even if I don’t feel like the best candidate for the job. Use my life to demonstrate Your power and to bring honour to Your Name. Amen.

- God still calls out to people today.
- He calls each one of us to come closer and to be with Him.
- God is not finished with you yet – it is not over.
- Respond with a willing heart and be ready to hear what He has to say.

PRAYER: Lord, today I want to respond to Your calling and to Your voice. I want to be where You are, I want to do what You want me to do and I want to experience what it means to be used by God. Amen.

- Never underestimate the mighty working power of God in your life.
- The greatness of the living God lives in you.
- He will give you the power and wisdom you need to overcome.
- Nothing else stands any chance against His power and might.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You that I am Your child and You live in me. I recognise that I do not need to fear because You are with me and no enemy will destroy me or hold me down, because I am not alone. Amen

- The Lord is watching over you even when you can’t see it.
- He looks for those who trust in Him so that He can strengthen them.
- Nothing you face goes unnoticed by God.
- He is working behind the scenes on your behalf.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You that You are always at work, even when I don’t see it. I choose to trust in You with a heart that is fully committed to You. Strengthen me when I am weak and may I never forget that You are watching over me. Amen.

- Remind yourself of the times when God has intervened in your life.
- Trust is His ability to protect and rescue you.
- And always be thankful for all that He has done.

PRAYER: Lord, how awesome it is to know that You want to rescue me and You want to give me victory in my life. May I never forget how faithful You have been and may I look forward to Your lovingkindness towards me. Amen.

‘I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.’

- The Lord is very interested in your heart.
- He doesn’t want us to live with hard stony hearts.
- Only He can change a hard heart and replace it with a heart of flesh.
- Give Him your heart today and let Him change and renew it.

PRAYER: Lord, I give You the right of way to work within my heart and my spirit. Give me a new heart and put a new spirit within me so that I can be more like You. Amen.

- Right now as you call on God He is giving you strength.
- The Lord is always faithful when we call on Him in prayer.
- In times of distress and need, He is our deliverance and guidance.
- The Lord is attentive and responsive to the cries of His people.

PRAYER: Lord, I take this moment to call on You and to present my requests to You. As I face the issues concerning me, I ask that You will come and fill me with courage and confidence that can only come from You. Amen.
