personally do not believe that one can be called to only do online ministry, but that the online platform is a great tool which God is using to reach out to both those who are close and are far, I believe that our calling has to go beyond the screen, it has to establish physical structures, impact communities and create peaceful and safe environments, which will mostly need our physical presence. In other words, there is a limit in the technological realm where ministry is concerned, for instance shepherding people requires a close proximity or range, where there is observations, monitorings and sometimes hugs of comfort that words can't project or bring about a response to the longing of an inner child's cry, that only a mother's bossom can quench.
The work done on ground is so significant that it can never be replaced technologically. With that being said, I also believe that one who is doing online ministry should have a vision beyong the technological realm that is operating through social media platforms. Our ministrations online should be as the letters of the Apostle Paul, carrying in them grace and the anointing of God, to establish truth, understanding and faith in the power of God. A letter that can be circulated to be read by many, even those whom it was not initially directed to, in order to spread the message of the gospel and to reveal God's magnificent glory, to both brethrens, non-believers and sceptics alike.
Yet, we look forward to the revival that is brewing in the spirit, where millions will gather both online and in the physical, hearing and receiving the proclamations of the gospel of Jesus Christ; and witnessing the undeniable power of God.
The technological realm will surely become overwhelmed by how many soldiers of God's light will rise and reach out to the ears and eyes of many around the world through it, but nevertheless, wisdom must be fundamental to all online ministers in order to build that which will last and serve God's purposes for ages to come.
