The world's oldest Catholic priest has died at the age of 110 in Germany. At the time of his death on Friday, Fr Bruno Kant was also the oldest German man. Fr Kant gave more than 75 years to the priesthood, retiring in 1991, but continuing to carry out pastoral duties regularly until he was 102 years old. Rest in Peace Fr Kant🙏. Today we celebrate the mystery of the Most Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three Persons, one God, united in perfect love.

May the love of the Father guide us, the grace of the Son strengthen us, and the power of the Holy Spirit fill our hearts with faith, hope, and charity.

Today we celebrate the glorious feast of the Ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ. ✨🤍

“Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven?” Acts 1:11

As Christ ascended into Heaven, He did not leave us alone. He gave us hope, purpose, and the promise of the Holy Spirit. May we keep our hearts fixed on Heaven while living faithfully here on earth. 🙏🏽☁️

Today’s Catholic Mass Readings | Sunday, 17 May

First Reading: Acts 8:5-8, 14-17
Philip proclaims Christ in Samaria, and many people experience healing, deliverance, and great joy. The apostles pray over the new believers, and they receive the Holy Spirit.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 66
“Let all the earth cry out to God with joy.”

Second Reading: 1 Peter 3:15-18
We are encouraged to always be ready to give a reason for our hope, with gentleness and reverence.

Gospel: John 14:15-21
Jesus promises the Holy Spirit, the Advocate, who will remain with His followers and guide them in love and truth.

Reflection
God never leaves us alone. Through the Holy Spirit, He strengthens, guides, and comforts us daily. Even in uncertain times, we can live with confidence knowing that Christ remains with us always.

First Reading: Acts 18:23-28
Apollos, filled with zeal and knowledge of the Scriptures, boldly teaches about Jesus and helps many grow stronger in faith.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 47
“God is king of all the earth.”

Gospel: John 16:23-28
Jesus assures His disciples that the Father Himself loves them because they have believed in Him. He encourages them to pray confidently in His name.

Reflection
God invites us into a relationship built on love, trust, and confidence in Him. Prayer is not about perfect words, but about coming before the Father with faith and an open heart.
