The Ladies closed off the Women’s Month by going for a treat together as part of growing the Women at SMMS fellowship. It was a beautiful day of receiving care, connecting through conversations and laughter and breaking down all walls of “othering”. It was a wonderful day and beautiful moment.

The SMMS ladies gathered to review the Former Presiding Bishop’s Book : She Laughed within herself.

The space wasn’t only to reflect on the book, but also share the dynamics of what it means to be a female student. We shared on the joy and the pain of it all. We also shared on what it means to be a community as Ladies, what works and what doesn’t work in terms growing relationships and leveraging from each other’s strengths. Also guarding against the narrative that women don’t “ like each other”, but rather forge foward in unity, and try to find each other as much as possible, it is also a caution we recieved from Bishop Malinga.

A story of a homeless man, begging for food and being passed by believers and A METHODIST MINISTER, but seen by a random member of society who offers aid, food and water and welcomes him into his house!

Lesson / Reminder: We are not called to be above any of God’s people but to be amongst them, to feel their pain, to offer support, aid and to share what we have with God’s people no matter how small.

THE SEMINARY IS FULL OF GREAT POTENTIAL!
