❗️❗️AMMENDED PROGRAMME❗️❗️
VOCATION INTENSIVE 2026
"God Called and She Said Yes"

As we celebrate 50 years of the ordination of women in ministry within the Methodist Church of Southern Africa (1976–2026), we give thanks for the countless women who have faithfully responded to God's call and have helped shape the Church's witness in the world.

This year's Vocation Intensive, hosted from the 21st -26th of June 2026,is more than a programme ,it is a sacred journey of discernment, formation, and transformation. Under the theme; "God Called and She Said Yes," we honour the courage, faith, and obedience of women who have embraced God's invitation to serve.

Together, we will reflect on vocation as God's gracious call, celebrate the gifts of women in ministry, and explore how each of us is invited to participate in God's mission of healing, justice, and hope.

This past Sunday, our seminarians joined the worshipping community of the Anglican Cathedral of the Holy Nativity, participating in the Church's ordinances. This experience forms part of our ongoing Ecumenical Approach and relationship building, theological and pastoral formation, fostering a deeper appreciation for the wider Body of Christ and the diverse expressions of Christian worship.

And today, as part of their Field Education Ministry, our 2nd and 3rd years visited the Pietermaritzburg Correctional Services Centre. This experience provided an opportunity to witness Christ's call to serve those on the margins of society, affirming the dignity and worth of every person created in the image of God. Through prayer, presence, and engagement, our seminarians continue to grow in pastoral sensitivity and deepen their understanding of the Church's ministry of compassion, reconciliation, and hope.

Beloved, come let us pray.

Almighty God, who calls and equips, thank You for the phenomenal women who You have called to ministry. We pray that You continue to empower them to be daring and fearless in the face of every challenge. Grant them a bold, unshakable spirit rooted in Your love. Let Your Holy Spirit make them unstoppable forces for Your Kingdom. When the road is tough, fill them with supernatural strength so they never grow weary. Remind them of their unstoppable purpose, their endurance and courage, and that if You are for them, no one and nothing can successfully stand against them. Bless the work of their hands and may they enjoy and find fulfillment in their ministry. In Your Almighty name we pray.

Lord in Your Mercy🙏🏾

Come let us pray.

Divine light, God our Parent. We Thank you for the work of grace in our lives and in the ministry of your Gospel. We are grateful that you have created us in your own image. The image that is never confided in gender, but one of love, service and compassion.

We pray that you continue to walk with those whom you have called to be stewards. Help us to remain faithful, to leverage from each other’s strength, to live out your beauty as men and women in the Church who are willing to work together for your kingdom. Break down the walls of prejudice, of fear and inspire us to move in unity through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Help us see you in each other, and know that everyone just like the body of Christ has a role to play in this world and in the ministry. Rise up leaders who embrace diversity, rise up female leaders with reverence, grace and truth.

Lord in Your mercy.
