Anglican Diocese of Port Elizabeth

Anglican Diocese of Port Elizabeth The Diocese of Port Elizabeth is a Christ-centered family of diverse communities within The Anglican Church of Southern Africa.

The people of our diverse diocese seek to proclaim and live out the Good News of Jesus, led by our bishop - Edward Daniels
Stretching from the blue Indian Ocean, across the fynbos covered mountains into the semi-arid Karoo; the diversities of urban and rural, industrial and agricultural, migrant and settled communities present numerous challenges in faithfully proclaiming the gospel of Christ.

* Pray for the Diocese of Ajayi Crowther - The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion); for its clergy and people.
* Creator God, forgive us if we think this world is simply to be exploited. Open our eyes to see the damage that we do. Open our ears to hear and not ignore the signs. Open our hearts to change. Make us the gardeners and caretakers that you created us to be, that this fragile world might be handed on with pride, not shame, to future generations.

* Pray for the Diocese of Aipo Rongo - The Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea; for its clergy and people.
* God our Father, You see Your children growing up in an unsteady and confusing world. Show them that Your ways give them more life than the ways of the world and that following You is better than chasing after selfish goals. Help them to take failure, not as a measure of their worth, but as a chance for a new start. Give them strength to hold on to their faith in You, and to keep alive their joy in Your creation.

* Pray for the Diocese of Ahoada - The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion); for its clergy and people.
* Heavenly Father, we give you thanks for the people among whom we live, the closed or scattered communities that we call home; people we know, friends and neighbours, and others who are faces we pass whilst walking to work or on our way to the shops. Bless them, whether friend or stranger, for they are your children, and loved. Be with them in their joys and sorrows, their concerns, fears, and anxieties, and in our smile or greeting, may they glimpse a little or your light in our eyes and in their own spiritual journeying be drawn to that same light, dear Lord.

* Pray for the Diocese of Agra - The Church of North India (United); for its clergy and people.
* Father, violence is never the answer. It destroys Your good creation and it grieves Your heart when people resort to it. Despite the world knowing who You are, they do not know the peace that You can give them. Lord, we ask that You arise and put an end to all violence. Extinguish pain and misery wherever it is found, and spread Your gift of grace and peace upon the face of creation. Let forgiveness reign and end the bloodshed. Through Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.
* Birthday: Revd Mark Muspratt-Williams

* Pray for the Diocese of North Africa - The Episcopal/Anglican Province of Alexandria; for its clergy and people.
* Faithful God, for your patience, which seems at times, endless, we give you thanks. Like children whose endless tendency to wander causes us as parents to despair, so we test the limits of your love. But you are there if we get lost. You are there if we need help. You are there with open arms. You are there, to welcome the wanderers, a loving Father waiting patiently to bring us home.

* Pray for the Diocese of Afikpo - The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion); for its clergy and people.
* Thank you, Lord, for showing us that love has no boundaries or end but listens, has patience, compassion, grace and gives without counting cost. Thank you for granting us a heart for those you love and a willingness to step out in faith and service. Thank you, Lord, for showing us true love can be ours to know and give.

* Pray for the Diocese of Adelaide - The Anglican Church of Australia; for its clergy and people.
* If our flame grows dim and faith goes cold, revive us Lord, we pray. Breath upon the spark that still remains, stir again the embers of our first love, warm our hearts and souls for worship. Bring us once again to where it all began, that we might become messengers of grace, relighting your flame of love throughout this dark world.

* Pray for the Diocese of Accra - The Church of the Province of West Africa; for its clergy and people.
* Gracious God, take from us any anxiety we might face as this day, and its baggage opens the door and enters in. May we see opportunities that yesterday were missed, blessings in the little things we might normally walk past; time enough to set aside a space to read your Word, say a prayer, sing a song, strengthen faith and know you’re there, always there, whatever this new day might bring.
