What can we say about Marriage: Understanding God's Purpose and Human Actions.
Throughout history, many important scientific findings and impressive buildings have been named after the people who created them. We remember these people and recognize their important contributions to our society. The theory of relativity is named after Albert Einstein, and famous landmarks like the Eiffel Tower show the creativity of Gustave Eiffel. Why do we ignore the true origin of marriage, which is a sacred tradition created by God?
Marriage should reflect God's purpose and glory, as He is its final creator. It is a system created to show the special agreement between people and the Creator, meant to encourage love, friendship, and a deep sense of purpose. Let's take a moment to think: why have we lost respect for its importance? Why have we taken away the special meaning of marriage, turning it into just a social agreement or a way to celebrate individual wishes?
Today, marriage is often seen as a deal for social status or personal happiness instead of its original meaning. What was once a sacred union, marred by love and commitment, has now transformed into something akin to a marketplace—a "kraal of cows," as you brilliantly put it, flooded with the whims of human nature. In this jungle of desires and disappointments, we seem to have lost our way, crawling on our knees in anguish as we face the sorrowful realities of broken relationships.
When we insist on navigating the road of marriage without divine guidance, we stumble in the dark, subjecting ourselves to the painful cycles of heartbreak and disappointment. Far too often, we treat relationships as a set of trials, experimenting with partners as if they were interchangeable parts of a machine. We engage in this trial-and-error method, akin to mere bots, missing the essence of what real companionship is meant to entail.
If, instead, we could view marriage through God's lens—recognizing it as a divine calling meant to honor Him and reflect His love—we could change our approach entirely. Understanding marriage as a sacred partnership would allow us to seek out a partner with purpose, with values that align not only with our own but also with the divine design set by God.
In acknowledging God’s rightful place within this organization, we would restore its original sanctity and significance. We would promote relationships based in mutual respect, love, and purpose—relationships that glorify the Creator and honor the covenant we enter into. In this pursuit, we would no longer view marriage merely as an avenue to meet our wants, but rather as a divine vocation that calls us to enrich the lives of our partners and those around us.
As we continue to navigate the complexities of modern relationships, let us remember the power of acknowledgment—the importance of dedicating our unions to the one who created them. May we lift marriage back to its proper place, honoring God in our love and commitment, and allowing our relationships to flourish in the light of His glory. In doing so, we might just discover the satisfaction and joy we’ve been seeking, transforming our cries of disappointment into songs of celebration.
