THE KISS OF DEATH - JUDAS ISCARIOT!
What is the fate worse than Death? It is said to be betrayal!
Because betrayal can only come from a friend, your inner circle, your circle of Trust. It is a devastating blow to your innards, to your heart!
The ultimate traitor was Judas Iscariot, who betrayed Jesus, a totally innocent man into a trap which had to be fabricated, but it was still an illegal trap.
But here is the thing - Jesus CHOSE Judas as one of his disciples, even though he knew that he would be his killer.
HOW must we understand this? Why on Earth would Jesus do such a thing?
You see, Jesus understood that Judas was a thief, cold, calculating, a two-faced liar, a completely amoral man, a snake in disguise and in particular, a fatal friend.
Jesus knew all of it, for nothing is hidden to him!
Well, here is the thing! According to Bible Prophecy, Jesus would be betrayed as an Innocent, tortured and beaten and eventually crucified. That was the price He needed to pay for Redemption to be available to all mankind.
And that is why Jesus chose Judas. Jesus chose who would betray Him for the sake of the fulfillment of the Prophecy, for the sake of a complete work.
You see, Judas had a grudge, because he had ambitions, and Jesus crushed or disappointed those ambitions. Because Judas thought that Jesus came to Earth as a King, that would conquer the Romans, that would set up His Earthly Kingdom and throw out the hated Romans.
Judas had ambitions of power as one of Jesus' strong right hand men, with honour and status, with riches and power. Especially power to take revenge against those who had wronged him...
And HERE comes THIS JESUS, who preaches Love and Peace and Submission! And NOTHING against the ROMANS!! And He is a simple man, no Royal ambitions, no takeover of the Government - NOTHING!!
Jesus was NOT Judas' idea of a King! So, Jesus became dispensable in his eyes, an object of profit, a target of his vengeance, a thing of contempt.
The fact that Jesus was harmless and innocent meant NOTHING to Judas. Those points were no consideration to him.
And so, for MONEY, Judas went to the Sanhedrin, sought Annas and Caiaphas, and made a DEAL, to betray Jesus.
Later, in the Garden of Gethsemane, where Jesus was waiting for Judas, he went over to Jesus and gave Him a kiss - of betrayal and the rest is history.
After the Crucifixion, Judas woke up to a horrible fact - he had betrayed INNOCENT BLOOD and his conscience started to run away with him. There was no place of peace.
The Innocence he had killed was now convicting him, driving him to insomnia, screaming in his head, calling out for retribution against him.
Judas had heard the words Jesus had said: "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do!"
This had broken through Judas' Iron Clad Heart! He woke up to the fact that he had betrayed the Son of God! He had done the unforgivable to GOD!
Reason left him! Despair engulfed him! He tried to reverse the DEAL, but there was no going back. There was no way to UNCRUCIFY the Son of the Living God!
Madness drove him to hang himself. He was left there to rot and eventually fell out of the noose, bursting open. spilling his guts onto the soil.
So much for his expectations. So much for his betrayal.
In the meantime, Jesus had risen from the Dead. He had used Judas' ultimate betrayal to engineer His Ultimate Triumph and Victory.
This is the thing with Betrayal. It will come. It will cost you everything. But it will lead to your ultimate victory.
Therefore, when Betrayal comes, know this - Jesus had engineered it to be the stepping stone to your Ultimate Triumph and Ultimate Victory.
And your Judas? Where is Jesus' Judas today?
