Refuse to be offended.
Jesus was telling his disciples to live in this world without offense. He was telling them that a true Christian must refuse to be offended. Offense blind us from reality and true. The truth is your condition, offense makes us forget our condition, you will forget that you have a pain that you must take care of. When we are offended our faith becomes weak, tongue becomes careless and confusion takes over. Satan does not enter Christians through sin but he enters through offense.
Offense create a wall around the heart against correct and no one will be able to correct you. Offense makes you interpret corrections as attack. It is the spirit that stand at the door of your heart, because when you are offended you don’t hear anyone except those who are offended just like you. Satan knows that offense makes Christians to commit many mistakes. Offense slow down our progress. When you are offended you don’t lose your faith as a Christian but you lose focus. Broken focus is the reason why many Christians fail.
Offense cloud the atmosphere of the heart and our hearts becomes useless as Christians. Offense cripple your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, when you are offended you react with anger. Offense makes Christians to suffer without them realising that they are suffering.
When you are offended you can still love God, worship him and serve him but you will not enjoy the benefits of been a Christian. It will be impossible to tap in God’s blessings with anger, bitterness and unforgiveness. The solution to offense is forgiveness. Forgiveness is not a weakness but strength because it makes you to be forgiven by God. When you are offended you forget that they did the same to our lord Jesus. How are they going to know you are a child of God if when they hate you, you hate them back, refuse to be offended.
