Today's Gospel(June 10, 2026)
Matthew 5:17-19

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, "Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfil them. For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

Today's Reflection:
All the law and prophets are summed up in the 'new' commandment: love of God and of neighbours as oneself. The law of love reaches the four corners of the earth and the end of time. Living this commandment with the proper motivation and a considerate, dedicated attitude is what makes a person great. Having love as the motivation of all of our actions not only helps us make it to heaven, but will also win us a greater share in God's happiness and glory there. No being escapes the demand of this law. When this law is honoured all the other laws fall into place. When we obey the law of love we are fulfilling all of the laws - we are bringing them to their natural end.

Let us Pray:
Lord Jesus, increase my trust in you and help me to obey. Amen.

Have a good day and God bless.

Today's Gospel(June 9, 2026)
Matthew 5:13-16

At that time: Jesus said to his disciples, “You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trodden under foot by men. You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

TODAY’S REFLECTION:
One thing that salt and light have in common is that they both make a difference wherever they are. Jesus is so definite in what his followers should be. You are the salt of the earth, you are the light of the world, says he. Christians are not called to blend into the world. Rather, our Christianity must permeate the world with our values, good works and example of love. Isaiah in our first reading points out the ways that we can be salt and light today. The corporal works of mercy: feed the hungry, provide shelter for the homeless, clothe the naked, be there for your family, and avoid selfishness, arrogance and greed. With these qualities, we must strive to make a positive difference in the world by our very lives and through the church.

Let us pray:
O Lord, I am weak and broken, surrounded on all sides by corruption and perversion. Lord have mercy on me: protect me from my enemies who devour me, and guide me in the way of perfection. No matter what happens to me, whether it be an attack or a seduction, may my love for you protect me from falling into sin. May I live a holy life no matter what others do around me. Amen.

Have a blessed day and God bless.
