Have you ever asked yourself why God seems silent when we go through certain things, or why He doesn’t seem to vindicate you when you feel like He should? This past Sunday, Pastor K taught a message titled "WHY GOD SEEMS SILENT." He touched on Abraham — how, when both Pharaoh and Abimelech took his wife, assuming she was his sister, God appeared to Abimelech in a dream, rebuked him, and struck Pharaoh’s entire household.
Sarah was the womb God had chosen to carry the child of promise, and her being taken from Abraham was going to directly affect her destiny, Abraham’s destiny, and God’s purpose.
Joseph got sold by his brothers:
1. God never told Jacob that his sons were lying, that they sold Joseph to the slave traders. Why didn’t God tell Jacob?
2. When Potiphar’s wife accused him of r**e, God didn’t go to Potiphar in a dream to defend Joseph. When he got to the prison, God didn’t tell the prison warder that Joseph was innocent. Do you realize that from the time Joseph went to prison to him becoming prime minister, there are people who remained with that lie?
The Lord Jesus was born in a manger because the Bible says there was no room in the inn. Why didn’t God tell someone to make room for Him in the inn? God the Son, born in flesh, and yet the Father didn’t tell anyone in a dream.
All the events that took place in the life of Joseph were not going to affect the final outcome of his destiny. In fact, some might even have shaped his character. Jesus being born in a manger wasn’t going to affect His destiny and who God had called Him to be.
This is important because when we thought God was silent, His silence was communicating to us that the events had no power to affect and influence the ultimate destination of our lives. Remember, when God seems silent, that silence is a testimony that it has no power to influence your destination. Just keep your eyes focused on Him.
