July 20th 2021

_*2 Timothy 3:5,7(KJV);* Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away... Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth._

*DISCIPLED BY THE WORD I*

There is a difference between being a student of the Word and a disciple of the Word. A student may know the scriptures, understand their historical context and even know their meanings.

It is not a bad thing to know these things but knowing them is not a guarantee that the person knows God. It might only amount to having lot of information about the Bible and nothing else.

If what one has is only plenty of information about the Bible, our theme scripture says of such a person, that he or she is ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth.

On the other hand, a disciple of the Word is submitted to the Word and allows it to not only teach but to also work by its inherent power through him. When a disciple of the Word studies the scriptures, he is not merely amassing information, the life of the Word manifests through everything he says and does.

To become a disciple of the Word, you must understand that the Word is a person (John 1:14).
He is not a collection of 66 books full of fanciful and somewhat entertaining stories.

Students of the Word often get lost in the wonders of the Word and miss His person.

As a person, the Word asks and answers questions, He sees, hears, tastes and communicates feelings and convictions.

So, the next time you open your Bible, you must be conscious of these things: do you see through His eyes; do you hear through His ears; do you listen when He speaks; do you understand how He feels?

This is what leads you into a relationship with the Word. In fact, His person is what makes His words spirit and life (John 6:63).

Exercise yourself in this understanding. Let your Bible study time be more than a superficial duty to tick off a list. Let it be time spent with a person, a friend you get to know more deeply as He takes you through the pages of the blueprint and manual of His personality.

Hallelujah!

*FURTHER STUDY:* John 1:14, Hebrews 4:12-13

*GOLDEN NUGGET:* To become a disciple of the Word, you must understand that the Word is a person. Let your Bible study time be time spent with a person, a friend you get to know more deeply as He takes you through the pages of the blueprint and manual of His personality.

*PRAYER:* Father, I thank You for this knowledge. I am submitted to Your precepts and instructions. I know the Word is the very person of who You are and I study the scriptures in this understanding. As I continue to relate with You, You launch me into deeper insights of Your Person. In Jesus' name, Amen

*THE LAW OF PROCESS*

The divine law of process works hand in hand with tutors and governors. These tutors and governors may be people or they may be circumstances.

Sadly, however, some Christians are so desperate to escape from tutors and governors. These tutors and governors are important and God allows them into your life for a purpose.

Laban was a tutor to Jacob. If Jacob had not served Laban, he would have affected his destiny. Under Laban, he had to learn the importance of hard work, patient endurance and respect for authority even when that authority abuses your efforts and dedication.

Imprisonment was a tutor to Joseph. If he had left prison early and run back to Canaan, he might never have had the opportunity to be Egypt's Prime Minister.

I know you might be under fire of some sort but don't be too desperate to jump out of it. It might be the fires of job pressure, the fires of a strained relationship or the fires of persecution in ministry. Stay. Rest. It is not a destroying fire. It is a refining fire. You will come out better.

If you choose to quit now, to leave that job or to throw in the towel over that business, you will have chosen the path of least resistance. This path leads to a life of mediocrity and will cause you to settle for much less than God desires for you.

Respect the process and endure the heat. For the sake of your future and those who will learn from you, don't give up! Remember that through it all, God is with you.

Hallelujah!

_*Psalm 27: 13(KJV)*; I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living._

*HOPE*

In this life, there are people who give up so easily. At the slightest discouragement, they lose their trust and confidence in God. But the life of king David is a lesson in endurance. We are in a period where we need to have hope that endures.

Maybe what is happening around us today, the Violence and the Pandemic is causing you to fear and to losses hope.

David was the least in his household, a child who grew up without the approval and attention of his father. When he eventually found a father figure in Saul, he was hated and almost killed by this same Saul.

He was on the run and in hiding even after he had been anointed as king. When he got into kingship, his son won the hearts of the people and ousted him from his throne. When he reclaimed his kingdom, he instructed Joab to ensure that his son wasn't killed, but nonetheless he was killed.

We see trial after trial in the life of this man that had been anointed by God.

And yet David still said, _'I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.'_ That is the Spirit of hope.

He gives us strength when the storms of life are blowing and fills us with Joy when the world thinks we should be weeping; He makes us say _'it is well'_ even when our backs are against the wall. When everyone is hopeless we are filled with hope and trust because God knows them that trust Him. (Nahum1:7)

No matter how harsh the situation, believe to see the goodness of God in the land of the living. He is faithful! He always comes through. He will not disappoint you. Do not give up! Do not give in! God is on your side!

Hallelujah!

*FURTHER STUDY*: 2 Corinthians 4:16, Psalm 42:5

*GOLDEN NUGGET*: No matter how harsh the situation, believe to see the goodness of God in the land of the living. He is faithful! He always comes through. He will not disappoint you. Do not give up! Do not give in! God is on your side!

*PRAYER*: Father, I thank you for the hope that I have in you. You are my defender, my strength and my strong tower. I trust in you God because you are the lifter of my head. I know that victory is mine! To the glory of your name, Amen.

_*Luke 14:16, 23* 'Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: ...And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled_.'

*RESPONSE*

The man who made the supper symbolizes God who has invited 'whosoever will' to come to Him. The parable teaches that it is not God who fails to offer salvation to everyone, but rather it is the invited guests who reject God's offer.

These people had feeble excuses just like the excuses of those today who don't accept God's offer of salvation. Therefore, the Lord's Marriage Supper of the Lamb will be furnished with 'undesirables' from the world's point of view, not because God rejects the upper class, but because they reject Him.

Those who have an abundance of this world's possessions don't tend to recognize their need for God as much as those who are without.

Jesus' parable could also be applied to the Jewish nation. God offered salvation to the Jews but they, as a whole, refused Him. Therefore, the Lord sent His servants to the Gentiles to fill His kingdom.

This very parable proves that the Lord is not advocating us using force to convert people to Christianity, because this man accepted the decision of those who rejected his invitation.

Therefore, it must be understood that the Lord is admonishing us to compel them to come in by our persuasion or entreaty. The word 'compel' denotes aggressiveness, even in persuading of people.

_The Church, as a whole, and all of us as individuals are not supposed to simply hang out our 'shingle' and wait for the world to come to us. We are supposed to be aggressively going into all the world with the Good News_.

We have an urgent command to be a witness because the time before our Lord's return is short.

*FURTHER STUDY* : Luke 14:16-24, Mark 16:15-16

*GOLDEN NUGGET*: We have an urgent command to be a witness because the time before our Lord's return is short.

*WHAT IS MAN?*

*PSALM 8:4* What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of man that You visit him?

The psalmist asked one of the most important questions that I want us to look at today. You’d agree with me that out of all the animals and out of all living creatures, there is no creature that is like man( human beings, both male and females). But what is it that sets us apart? To answer this, let look at genesis 2:7 “ And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

Form the beginning, God's great desire was to have communion and fellowship with man, so God created man and placed him in a physical/material world. In order for man to communicate and have a tangible relationship with this physical world, so God created man with a "physical" body capable of such communication. But God is "Spirit," John 4:24, so man had to have that dimension in him in order to be able to communicate with God in who is spirit, therefore, God also created him with a spirit dimension.

At creation, God placed the spirit of man within his body and the union of these two, spirit and body, produced a third dimension within man, his "soul." The Scripture says, "Man became a living soul." A soul," stood between two worlds and belonged to both. Through his body, man was linked to the visible, physical earthly world around him and through his spirit he was linked to the spiritual, eternal, and heavenly world of God Himself.

God formed man’s body out of the earth and equipped it with five senses. After He formed the body, God breathed into it the breath of life. This breath of life is a man's spirit and this spirit enabled man to be in relationship to the unseen, spiritual world, where God is. With the union of man's body and spirit, he became a living soul. The soul is that aspect of man's being that interprets or develops the impressions of the external world around him, where his senses, thoughts, emotions, and desire resides.

*Man's spirit* is the seat of his God consciousness - where God dwells,
*Man's soul* is the seat of his self-consciousness - where self-dwells
*Man's body* is the seat of his world consciousness - where his senses dwells

Man is not a body, he has a body, he dwells within a body, man is a living soul. In summary, a Man is a spirit, who dwells in a body and has a soul.

*John 4:24* “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. When we accept Christ in our lives, as our Lord and Savior, our spirit man gets born again John 3:5, our bodies remains the same and our souls begins a new expedition, to be like Jesus. True worships happens when on a daily basis we engage ourselves to feed our spirit and soul with the word, prayer and worship.

*PRAYER* : Lord Jesus, I need to worship you in truth and in spirit, create in me a new heart, a heart that desires to serve you in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

DAILY BREAD
08 JULY 2021

*John 14:26* But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

*THE HELPER*

From the very beginning, “before the foundation of the world,” our heavenly Father planned to share His life with man and to express Himself throughout the universe during all ages to come!

God’s Word tells us that Christ bore all of our sins in His own body on the tree. God placed the sins of the world upon Him. Christ is our sin bearer. He became sin, bearing our sin, but, we must not only stop at the cross, where we believe, that Christ died to save us from our sins, we must also understand the continuous work of God the Holy Spirit in our lives to conform us into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Believing in Jesus Christ as our Savior, to save us from sin, and accepting Him as our personal Savior, is very important, because we all have sinned Rom 3.23, but this acceptances of Jesus as our personal Savior is only a crisis act or s damage control act. It is something we do because Adam sinned and caused us to inherit sin.

But that is not God’s eternal purpose for us because God’s eternal purpose is a process of growth, When God created man, and placed him on earth, man was created in innocence, but ultimately, God’s purpose for man, it was to share His life with him and bring him to perfection – to maturity. It was not man’s sin that determined God’s purpose of sharing His divine life with him because this was already in His original plan. Before man ever sinned, even before he was created, God determined to share Himself with man through His Son, Jesus Christ. And, for God to accomplish this original plan, it did not require that man should sin first. Being free from sin or just making it to heaven,” is not our end goal as Christians, we need to ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit will help us to walk in the fulness of God’s divine plan.

God could not ignore man’s sin, hence we must be born again and become new creation in Christ, having believed and received, we are now ready to share the “Life of God’s Son,” and this can only be accomplished when we receive God the Holy Spirit, that means that one does not have to be wearied, defeated, or frustrated, by trying to live the Christian life on his own and in his own strength. We must make a determination in our hearts that we will daily acknowledge the Lordship of Christ in our lives, and that our strength and ability to live for Christ will come only from the helper, the Holy Spirit.

*Prayer* : Lord I can't please you in my own, with my own strength I can't live for you. I need you to help me to walk in the fullness of your will, in Jesus name I pray.

*GOD’S PURPOSE FOR MAN*
Ephesians 1:4-6 “Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

Paul begins the book of Ephesians by starting God’s eternal purpose for man – “God blessed us with all spiritual blessings IN CHRIST.”

As the fellowship between the Father and the Son was in eternity past, so, also, was it in the Father’s heart that many sons be conformed to His Son’s image, even before the foundation of the world. With anticipation, God planned that His eternal Son would become the “incarnate” God (God in flesh), by so doing, God would be sharing His divine life with His human family, that was yet to be created.

God planned to visit this planet by sending his son Jesus to earth in human body, not mainly because man sinned, but, so that Jesus might become the very life of man. So that the life of God’s son might become our life. That was God’s ultimate intention or plan for mankind.

You see child of God, that even before Adam sinned, God already had a plan for us to be like Jesus, to have the life of Jesus, the dominion and authority of Jesus. Hence were created in His image Gen 1:26. This was God’s plan for us even before the world was even created and before Adam sinned. So when God sent Jesus to earth dressed in human Body, he had two main goals. 1, to save us from sin and 2, to restore what God had originally planned before the world was created.

If we can understand what God’s purpose is for our life, our outlook on life, and our commitment to God’s service would take on a whole new dimension. We will strive on a daily basis to live in accordance to God’s plan, we will strive to seek his purpose for our own lives, Prayer will not be a chore anymore which we are told to do, but it will come easily as it’ll be in our hearts to seek God’s divine plan for our lives which he purposed before the creation of the universe.

You see Child of God, Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, being ‘holy and without blame’, is the highest level of maturity that one should strive to attain as a Christian. Let us understand this, ‘Holy’ means without sin and ‘without blame’ means perfect. This is Jesus’ level, Jesus is Holy and is perfect. So God wants us to be like his son Jesus Christ in every aspect of our lives.

Some strive to raise the dead, some strive to call fire from heaven and some strive to attain all the riches of the world, but let us strive to be like Jesus, to be Holy and without blame, for that’s what God planned for us to be even before the world was created. Miracles, healing and deliverances etc. only came to be after Adam sinned, but before that, God wanted mankind to be Holy and perfect, to be like His son Jesus.

*Prayer* ” Lord Jesus, let your purpose take form in my own life, the very purpose that you had for me before the foundation of the universe, in Jesus name I pray

GREETINGS LIVING WORD
DAILY BREAD
06 JULY 2021

*SALVATION PURPOSE*

2 Timothy 1:9-10, teaches “ _Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel_ .”

To understand salvation, we need to be able to see God’s original purpose for man and realize what His ultimate intention for us in our Christian walk. It is important in living a victorious Christian life that we have a correct understanding of what God is saying in these verses. This passage of Scripture state that, first, God saved us and, second, called us to a life of holiness (that is, to be like Him) not as a reward for anything that we have done, but rather, in fulfilment of His own loving purpose, that was shown to us through union with Christ Jesus, eternal ages ago. This purpose is brought fully into view by the appearance of Jesus Christ, Who has put a stop to the power of death, has revealed true life, and has given us immunity from eternal death.

Let’s look at this concept more closely. In the beginning, when God created man, He had an ultimate purpose for him; however, man sinned and fell from that original purpose. Now, as a result, man must be “lifted from that fallen condition” and brought back to the place that Adam lost.

Man’s purpose then becomes two fold:

1. Man, in his fallen condition, must be brought back to his original “holy calling” that Adam had lost when he sinned.

2. Man had to fulfil God’s original desire for a family that was the eternal purpose that God had for man before Adam sinned

Ephesians 1:4-5 “ For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will. This is the ultimate purpose God had for us before the world began.

God’s original purpose for man was not just to save him from sin that he could go to heaven, or so that he might be delivered from his troubles and be granted an easier life, but rather, God’s original purpose for man was to conform him into the image of His Son, Jesus Christ.

*PRAYER* : Lord, I pray that you help me walk in your purpose for my life, the purpose you had for me before the creation of the world, to be Holy, blameless and to be your child through Jesus Christ.

Yours in Christ
