And the two disciples heard him speak , and they followed Jesus. 38 Then Jesus turned , and saw them following , and saith unto them, What seek ye ? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say , being interpreted , Master,) where dwellest thou ? 39 He saith unto them, Come and see . They came and saw where he dwelt , and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour. (John 1:37-39)
After this encounter with Jesus, they never left Him. Whatever they saw and experienced in Jesus’ house demanded their loyalty forever. These men committed their lives to the Master. Everyday they walked with Him, ate with Him, ministered with Him, and now... He’s gone. How broken they must have felt. How purposeless they had to feel. This man carried their destiny, and now He’s gone. Have you ever missed someone so much that you longed for their presence? Maybe it was a friend that moved away, or a long distance relationship, but there are times where we long for presence. Presence is that feeling that someone else is in the room with you. God’s presence is comforting, rejuvenating, peaceful, and powerful. There is no place like the presence of God. Can you say that with me? THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE YOUR PRESENCE GOD
