Tafelsig (Cape Town): The Largest Church Building in the World
When it comes to sheer size and capacity, the Tafelsig congregation in Mitchells Plain, Cape Town, holds the title of the largest New Apostolic church building in the world.
Massive Seating Capacity: The stunning auditorium is built to comfortably seat 4,000 people under one roof.
A Visual Marvel: The building is so massive that it can be recognized from the sky—it features a giant, distinctive New Apostolic Church emblem cast directly into the structure of its roof.
A Hub for Global Events: Because of its immense size and state-of-the-art setup, Tafelsig is the ultimate flagship venue for the Southern Africa region. It regularly serves as the central hub for massive international events, including global Pentecost broadcasts.
The Powerhouses of the Global Church
While Cape Town boasts the largest physical building, the true numeric weight of the New Apostolic Church resides in Central and East Africa.
Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC): In terms of total membership numbers and daily congregation sizes, the DRC holds the largest concentration of New Apostolic Christians anywhere on Earth, home to millions of members spread across massive, packed local congregations.
Silvertown Auditorium: Another massive landmark in Cape Town is the Silvertown congregation. While it holds around 1,600 people (smaller than Tafelsig), it functions as a legendary concert hall and a major historical centerpiece for the church's musical legacy in Africa.
Communities like Tafelsig represent the absolute pinnacle of the church's growth, serving as vibrant, buzzing centers where thousands of believers gather weekly in unity.

On Sunday, 03 May 2026, the young people of the South Western District gathered in joyful anticipation at the Ennerdale congregation for a blessed Young People’s Divine Service. The service was conducted by District Rector Benn, who brought a heartfelt and inspiring message centered on the scripture from Matthew 6:33:

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”

The message encouraged the youth to place God at the center of their lives, reminding them that when they prioritize their relationship with Him above all else, He will faithfully provide for their needs. It was a powerful call to trust in God’s guidance, especially in a world filled with distractions and pressures.

District Rector Helper Louis Brandt served alongside, contributing to the spiritual depth and unity experienced throughout the service. Together, they created an atmosphere where the young people could truly feel uplifted, encouraged, and strengthened in their faith.

Following the service, the fellowship continued in a warm and joyful spirit. Everyone enjoyed a lovely plate of food and refreshments, providing a wonderful opportunity for connection, laughter, and shared moments among the youth.

It was truly a blessed and memorable day—one that not only nourished the soul but also strengthened the bonds of fellowship within the South Western District’s young people.
