Some of the most painful moments in life don’t come from enemies…
They come from those who were close.
Judas walked with Jesus.
He heard His teachings.
He witnessed His miracles.
He was trusted… chosen… positioned.
And yet—he agreed to betray Him.
“What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” (Matthew 26:15)
For thirty pieces of silver…
he traded presence for profit,
purpose for personal gain,
and relationship for a moment of advantage.
This is not just a story about Judas.
It is a mirror.
Because betrayal doesn’t begin with an action—
it begins in the heart.
It begins when devotion grows cold.
When love becomes transactional.
When we start valuing other things more than we value Christ.
Judas didn’t fall in a moment…
he drifted over time.
And the truth is:
You can be close to Jesus physically…
and still be far from Him spiritually.
You can serve…
and still be struggling with hidden motives.
You can look committed…
and still be negotiating your loyalty in secret.
The question today is not “Who is Judas?”
The question is:
What are we willing to trade Jesus for?
• Compromise for convenience?
• Silence for acceptance?
• Sin for temporary satisfaction?
• Comfort over calling?
Because anything we place above Him…
becomes our thirty pieces of silver.
But here is the grace in this message:
Even knowing Judas would betray Him…
Jesus still sat at the table with him.
That means even in our weakness,
even in our inconsistency,
even in our moments of drifting—
His mercy still reaches us.
Today is a call to realign.
To check the heart.
To return to true devotion.
Don’t trade what is eternal for what is temporary.
Don’t exchange His presence for passing gain.
Choose faithfulness.
Choose integrity.
Choose Jesus—fully, not partially.
Because in the end,
it’s not about how close you were to Him…
It’s about whether you stayed true to Him.
This is your moment.
Guard your heart.
Stay loyal.
Finish faithful.
