Brief history :

He worshipped Sivan in accordance with the dictates of the Sivaagamaas. Once, there was famine. He suffered in hunger. Even though He was weak, He continued His Sivapoosai. Whilst performing Thirumuzhukku for the Sivalingam,He dropped the kudam (pot) on the Sivalingam. He trembled with fear and fell unconscious to the ground. Sivan gave Him a gold coin daily. This appeared at the base of the Sivalingam in the temple of Thiru Arasitkarai Puthoor. Sivan finally blessed Him with liberation.

Brief history :
He was the head of the fisherman clan. Every day, He offered the best fish in His net to Sivan by putting it back in the sea. By Sivan’s Grace, for many days He caught only one fish. He offered that to Sivan. His clan was suffering in poverty. One day, by Sivan’s Grace He caught a wondrous fish, made from gems. It was a priceless fish. He even offered that fish to Sivan. Sivan appeared and blessed Him with liberation.
