Sunday, 19th June 2022, the Greater Johannesburg District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME Church) under the leadership of the Rev BJ Motaung visited the Kwa Mai Mai community downtown Johannesburg. This was in the aftermath of the devastating fires that ripped through the Kwa Mai Mai informal settlement and destroyed people' s belongings and left nothing ashes of what was once possessions dear to their owners. Seen in the pictures are some members of Allen Temple AME Church Meadowlands Zone 7 Soweto with their benevolent gifts put together to make a contribution to try and easy the pain and suffering of the Kwa Mai Mai Community.
I want to take this opportunity and express my profound gratitude and appreciation to everyone who has made whatever kind of sacrifice and giving possible. I also make a call to anyone who may wish to donate more blankets, clothes, toiletries, food and any type of gift that will assist this community. Anyone who is willing can bring such gifts at Allen Temple AME Church Meadowlands Zone 7, 188 Ingedezi Street or call me on 0614169789. We are hoping to revisit the Kwa Mai Mai people in the near future. What we are doing is taking the Church to the people and not stay comfortable and confined in our sanctuary. So Brothers and Sisters we are encouraging, asking and calling on anyone or organization that wishes to show compassion, love, mercy and above all UBUNTU to serve the needy to support this Social Action Ministry. Donations ranging from Groceries, Blankets, Toiletries and Clothes will be handed over to the community of Kwa Mai Mai informal settlement.
May God Bless you ALL!!!
