Media and Publications Officer
Are you a Christian who’s excited by the idea of communicating the Good News through a variety of media, both print and electronic? Do you have skills and experience in the fields of writing, editing, desktop publishing, and managing a website? The Anglican Diocese of Grahamstown is looking for a part-time Media and Publications Officer. This post carries an honorarium (negotiable), and would suit someone who enjoys working flexible hours from home, perhaps recently retired. Although the Diocesan Office is in Grahamstown, the Media and Publications Officer could operate from anywhere in the Diocese.The Duties of the Media and Publications Officer include: Diocesan newspaper Umbuliso Editing and designing the Diocesan newspaper Umbuliso/ The Greeting, using desktop publishing. This comes out as a free newspaper with a circulation of just under 3000 every other month. The printed publication consists of eight A4 pages in black-and-white plus one colour (a different colour for each issue of the year). A full-colour version is put up on the diocesan website.Monthly Prayer leaflet for clergy Typesetting and designing a monthly 8-page A5 booklet of prayer requests, using content provided by theBishop’s Secretary. This is distributed to parishes via the Diocesan Office by email (or by post in cases when email is not available), and put up on the diocesan website.

cases the text is provided, though some editing is necessary at times. Press releases Issuing occasional press releases.
