True growth begins when you admit your mistakes instead of covering them.

06/03/2026

You can’t make the same mistake twice. The second time you do it, it’s no longer a mistake, it’s a choice.

A mistake is part of learning. It happens once, often out of ignorance, inexperience, or oversight. It teaches you a lesson, revealing what works and what doesn’t.

But repeating the same action despite knowing the consequences is deliberate. It shows a conscious decision rather than an innocent error. At that point, it is no longer about chance, it is about choice.

Understanding this distinction is empowering. It reminds you that growth requires awareness and accountability. Own your decisions. Learn from your first missteps. And refuse to let repeated mistakes define your life.

Mistakes can educate you. Choices determine your character.💡

MIDWEEK SERVICE UPDATE (LATE POST)

SERMON: “GODLY FINANCIAL PLANNING – BUILDING THE HOUSE WITH WISDOM”
1️⃣ FOUNDATION SCRIPTURE
Proverbs 21:5

“The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty.”

🔥 INTRODUCTION

Tonight we are not just talking about money — we are talking about stewardship.

Money is not evil. Poor planning is dangerous.
God does not bless confusion; He blesses order.

Financial planning is:

Spiritual

Biblical

Necessary

A sign of maturity

If you don’t plan your money, your money will plan your struggle.

1️⃣ GOD IS A GOD OF ORDER
1 Corinthians 14:40

“Let all things be done decently and in order.”

Before creation, God had a plan.
Before blessing Israel, God had a structure.
Before Jesus came, prophecy prepared the way.

Planning is divine.

👉 Disorder in finances brings:

Stress

Arguments in families

Debt

Shame

Ministry limitations

But order brings peace.

2️⃣ *JESUS TAUGHT FINANCIAL PLANNING*
Luke 14:28

“For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost…?”

Jesus said:

Sit down

Count the cost

Calculate

Prepare

Many believers pray before they budget.
But Jesus said: Sit down first.

Faith does not cancel planning.

*3️⃣ THE DANGER OF LIVING WITHOUT A PLAN*
Hosea 4:6

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.”

Many believers:

Spend emotionally

Borrow unnecessarily

Live above their income

Ignore savings

Avoid budgeting

And then say, “The devil is fighting me.”

Sometimes it’s not the devil.
It’s lack of discipline.

4️⃣ *FOUR PILLARS OF GODLY FINANCIAL PLANNING*
🔹 1 *. TITHING – PUT GOD FIRST*
Malachi 3:10

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse…”

Tithing is not a payment.
It is honor.

God must be first — not leftovers.

*🔹 2. BUDGETING – TELL YOUR MONEY WHERE TO GO*

Write down:

Income

Expenses

Savings

Giving

A budget is not restriction.
It is direction.

🔹 *3. SAVING – PREPARE FOR TOMORROW*
Proverbs 6:6-8

“Go to the ant… it stores its provisions in summer.”

Even ants prepare.

If emergencies destroy you, it means you were not prepared.

*🔹 4. AVOIDING DEBT*
Proverbs 22:7

“The borrower is servant to the lender.”

Debt limits destiny.
Debt controls your freedom.
Debt delays vision.

Not all debt is sin —
But careless debt is bo***ge.

*5️⃣ FINANCIAL PLANNING IN THE CHURCH*

The early church operated with wisdom.

Acts 4:34-35

They distributed resources wisely.
They planned.
They managed.

A church without financial planning:

Cannot grow

Cannot build

Cannot expand vision

Cannot support missions

God funds vision — but He blesses responsible managers.

NOT ALL PASTORS ARE FATHERS.

Title does not make you a father.
Anointing does not make you a father.
Crowd does not make you a father.
A pulpit does not make you a father.

Some are pastors by office, but strangers by heart.
They know how to collect tithes, offerings, seeds, and vows, but they don’t know how to carry burdens.
They know how to preach to you, but they don’t know how to stand with you.

A father covers you.
A father corrects you.
A father defends you when you are weak.
A father does not use you, drain you, and abandon you when trouble comes.

Not everyone that calls you “my son” sees you as one.
Some only see members.
Some only see numbers.
Some only see ATM cards.

A true father may rebuke you, but he will never disgrace you.
A true father may correct you, but he will not destroy you.
A true father does not run when you enter storms. He stands with you inside it.

This is the bitter truth.
Many people don’t lack pastors. They lack fathers.
And many pastors don’t want sons. They want loyal followers who will fund their lifestyle and keep quiet.

Open your eyes.
Respect the office, but discern the heart.
