🌿 FAMILY WEEK 2026 — “LOOK, I AM MAKING EVERYTHING NEW!” 🌿

As we bring Family Week 2026 to a close, our hearts are filled with gratitude to God for a truly beautiful week of faith, fellowship, learning, laughter and renewal. ❤️

Guided by our Moravian text for the year, “Look, I am making everything new” — Revelation 21:5, our Diaconics Committee chose the important theme of addiction and family renewal.

We were privileged to hear the honest testimony of a recovering addict, sharing both the reality of addiction and the hope of renewal in Jesus’ name. We also heard from a professional social worker who shared from both her expertise and her family's personal experience. We were reminded that addiction affects the whole family, is a treatable disease, and that there is help, hope and renewal. 🙏🏽

Yesterday brought a wonderful Family Fun Day, where young and old enjoyed games, laughter and fellowship together. We also took time for a valuable self-care session, reminding us that self-care is not selfish — it is necessary. ❤️

Today, we culminated our week with a beautiful worship service and a powerful message from Sister Minnie Lewis Adams, on behalf of the Diaconics Committee, under our theme of renewal.

A particularly meaningful moment was the Cup of the Covenant, led by Reverend Veronica Persence, as the chalice was passed from family to family and shared throughout our congregation — a beautiful symbol of renewal in our families and in our church family.

🙏🏽 Thank you, Lord, for a blessed Family Week!

Our sincere thanks to our Diaconics Committee, Mission, Welfare & Evangelism Committee, church leadership, speakers, volunteers and every member of our congregation who helped make this week so meaningful.

May we carry its message forward:

Faith that strengthens.
Family that supports.
Renewal that transforms. 🌿

May God bless every family in our congregation and continue to make all things new in our homes, our church and our community.

Have a blessed week ahead, Maitland Moravian family! ❤️🙏🏽

🌿 AUGUST HIGHLIGHTS | A MONTH OF COMPASSION ❤️

August has been a truly meaningful month in the life of Maitland Moravian Church, as we journeyed together through the Moravian theme of Compassion — expressed through worship, fellowship, tradition, celebration, and mission.

🌸 Women’s Day Celebration
We kicked off the month with a powerful Women’s Day service, beautifully presented by our Women’s Group. It was a wonderful celebration of the strength, faith, wisdom and contribution of women in our church and community.

🕊️ 13th August Festival – The Spirit of Brotherly Love
We gathered for Holy Communion as we celebrated the 13th August Festival, reflecting on the Moravian tradition of Agape — brotherly love. Through our reflections on the past, present and future, we were reminded of the importance of carrying this spirit of love and unity forward into our communities and generations to come.

🎉 Kinderfees
One of the highlights we look forward to every year — Kinderfees! 💛
This year, our Sunday School hosted a lively and joyful day filled with inspiring guest speakers, spiritual dancing, singing and fellowship. And, of course, our church was beautifully decorated, creating the perfect atmosphere for this special celebration of our children and their faith.

🤲 Compassionate Sunday – Mission in Action
We ended the month by putting compassion into action. Today, our Diaconics Committee organised a community outreach to the Kensington Haven Night Shelter, giving us the opportunity to reach beyond the walls of our church and fulfil our calling to mission work within our community.

August reminded us that compassion is not simply something we speak about — it is something we live. ❤️

From worship to fellowship, from our children to our seniors, and from our church family to the wider community, we give thanks for a month filled with opportunities to love, serve and share.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making August such a memorable month at MMC. May we continue to carry the spirit of compassion with us into the months ahead.

🌸 Maitland Moravian Church | Women’s Day Celebration 🌸

What a truly powerful and spirit-filled gathering we experienced as we came together to celebrate Women’s Day! 💜✨

We extend our heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for this special worship service. Your presence, warmth, and participation made the celebration incredibly meaningful and uplifting.

A very special word of appreciation goes to Professor Gertrude Fester – women’s activist, freedom fighter, and a woman of great courage – for the insightful, inspiring, and deeply impactful message she shared with us. Having endured imprisonment in her fight for women’s rights in our country, her testimony and wisdom reminded us of the strength, resilience, and purpose carried by women everywhere. 🙏🏽

It was truly a dynamic and empowering time in God’s presence, filled with worship, reflection, unity, and celebration. We were reminded that we are indeed stronger together – in faith, in love, and in purpose. 💖

As we reflect on this beautiful occasion, we pray that every woman continues to walk boldly in her calling, clothed in strength and dignity.

✨ “She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” – Proverbs 31:25

Thank you once again for celebrating with us. May you all continue to be richly blessed! 🌷

✨ Maitland Moravian Church – July Highlights ✨

We give thanks to the Lord for a truly blessed and eventful month of July 🙏💙

Throughout the month, we were privileged to observe and celebrate several special occasions as a congregation. One of the highlights was our Youth & Music Ministry Praise and Worship Afternoon 🎶🔥 — a spirit-filled gathering that was well attended by youth groups from across our district. What a powerful time of fellowship and praise!

We also supported a District Anti-GBV Awareness Programme ✊💜, with our Diaconics Department actively involved — standing together for healing, awareness, and change.

Our Sunday School learners had the opportunity to attend the Senior Camp 🏕️, where seeds of faith continue to grow in the hearts of our young people.

As a congregation, we came together in a beautiful Liturgy of Thanksgiving 🙌, uplifting our Youth Ministry, Confirmands, and the entire church family in gratitude to God.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously supported the various fundraisers and the Diaconics “Socks & Soup” initiative 🧦🍲 — your kindness continues to make a meaningful difference.

We are also grateful for the pastoral care of Rev. Veronica Persence, who has been visiting and encouraging families in their homes 🏡❤️. Your presence brings comfort and strength to many.

Our Prayer Group continues faithfully with weekly meetings and visitations 🙏, and we remain spiritually nourished through powerful preaching and prayer sessions that sustain our faith as a congregation.

May God continue to bless each and every one of you abundantly 🌿✨

📅 MMC June Roundup | Maitland Moravian Church

We pause with grateful hearts to thank God for His constant love, grace, and blessings over our congregation. 🙏🏼 The past few weeks have been full and fruitful, reminding us of the beauty of fellowship and service.

We’ve shared in a number of meaningful moments together — from our Ken 1 & 2 Bingo fundraiser and the Sunday School Mini Market to preparing for our upcoming weekend away. Thank you to everyone who supported and contributed so generously — your presence and participation make all the difference.

Our church family has also been blessed with special gatherings, including a joyful HEMM Sisters’ Day Out in Herrnhut, the recent HEMM Cluster Service held in Elsies River last Sunday to celebrate the welcome of Rev Gordon. We look forward with excitement to the Senior Sunday School Camp ahead. We continue to keep all these moments in prayer, trusting God to grow us spiritually through each one.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our Youth and Sunday School for organizing today’s Youth Day & Father’s Day Service. Under the theme “True Freedom,” we were reminded that real freedom is found in God’s mercy and love — not in worldly things, but in being forgiven, restored, and renewed through Him.

In this context, true freedom speaks deeply to both our youth and fathers:
• For our youth, it is the freedom to walk confidently in their identity in Christ, to rise above pressures, and to live purposefully.
• For our fathers and father figures, it is the freedom found in leading with grace, humility, and faith — grounded in God’s enduring mercy.

A special word of thanks to Sr Minnie Adams for her inspiring sermon based on Micah 7:18–20, reminding us that God delights in mercy and casts our sins into the depths of the sea.

We are incredibly proud of our Youth Group, who were recently recognized as one of the most active in the district — a true testament to their dedication and spirit. 💙
They warmly invite everyone to their Afternoon of Praise & Worship on 4 July — please see attached posters for more details.

🎺 Don’t miss the upcoming BBSA Mid-Year Brass Concert — tickets are available from our Brass Band.

As we move into the new week, may we continue to walk in faith, love, and true freedom through Christ.

Blessed week ahead to all! 🙏🏼✨

🔥✨ Blessed Pentecost from Maitland Moravian Church ✨🔥

Wishing all our congregants and friends of the congregation a truly blessed and Spirit-filled Pentecost.

Today we celebrate the outpouring of the Holy Spirit — a reminder that God continues to renew, empower, and guide His people. As Acts 2:4 reminds us, “They were all filled with the Holy Spirit…” — may that same Spirit fill our hearts afresh today.

We also give thanks for the gift of Holy Communion shared today, uniting us as one body in Christ. May we continue to walk together in faith, strengthened by His grace and inspired by His Spirit to be His witnesses in the world.8

🙏 Come, Holy Spirit — fill our hearts, renew our faith, and send us out in love.

Blessings to you all this Pentecost Sunday ❤️

✨ Maitland Moravian Church | Exaudi Sunday ✨

What an exciting and jam-packed Exaudi weekend it has been! 🙌

Our journey began on Friday evening with an engaging and eye-opening youth programme facilitated by Sr. Geraldine 🌟. On Saturday, our sisters attended a district women’s event focused on health awareness in Mamre.

This morning, we were blessed during our worship service, presented by our Youth Ministry, with a message from visiting preacher Br. Marius Ehrenreich, themed “The Power of the In-Between” and inspired by Ephesians 3:18–20, reminding us of the depth and breadth of God’s love and that He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. 💙

The service was followed by a beautiful time of fellowship at our youth coffee bar fundraiser. Thank you to everyone for your generous support and donations. ☕

This afternoon, our youth joined the district Exaudi celebration service at Herrnhut, a vibrant and uplifting gathering filled with praise, worship, and encouragement. 🎶

We are especially proud of our youth, who were recognised as one of the most active youth groups in the district—what a wonderful achievement! 🎉

As we give thanks for a meaningful weekend, we also keep our youth in prayer as they prepare for their upcoming mid-year exams 📚 and look ahead to Pentecost, as we commence our week of Pentecost prayers tomorrow. 🔥
