In the name of God Almighty, the most Gracious, the Merciful.
Respected family of the late Nathanial Julies, honourable leaders, and members of the First Nation, respected dignitaries from all over the world, members of the local and international media fraternity, please lend me your ears.
Today we have gathered not just to bury a fallen hero, but also to commemorate a giant who gave his life for the upliftment of perpetual generations.
Nathanial Julies was an innocent 16-year-old child of a caring and religious family. Nathanial had down syndrome and could barely speak during his lifetime, but ironically just two weeks ago, his silence turned into a reverberating voice of power that even the deaf could hear and the blind see the angels singing the praises of a welcomed legend.
Today is an auspicious day because Nathanial has honoured the voiceless and the frustrated millions whose plight for a better life, 26 years into our democracy, has fallen on deaf ears.
Nathanial's permanent silence speaks volumes that all lives matters, beyond colour, class, creed, race and gender.
His audible silence sets the record straight for the many oppressed, marginalised, the poor, the voiceless, the victims of crime & corruption, r**e and femicide.
Nathanial's voice shall rise from the grave to remind us that we have to foster a just society, free from the shackles of Imperialism, Colonialism, Zionism and every other 'ism' that claims to set us politically free from bo***ge, but in reality seek to enslave us economically.
Nathanial's voice appeals to the conscience of every decent human striving for self-actualisation, as Maslow aptly describe in his theory of hierarchical needs.
Nathanials message is setting the record straight for the world to witness that civil society is ready to achieve greatness by refusing to accept the status quo of injustice, exploitation and neglect.
Today Nathanial's message to the international community is that no black is superior to a non-black and no non-black is superior to a black, except by his or her ever consciousness of one true Almighty God of the entire universe, that we need to take heed of the lesson of covid-19, and Affirmative Action, BEE, farm murderers and land theft.
Nathanial's voice echoes the land belongs to God alone, and if ever any nation were to have a usufruct or a pre-emptive birth right over the land, it would be the first inhabitants of the earth, the Khoi and San people of the First Nation.
Every human, plant and animal have the inalienable right to coexist in harmony with nature.
Nathanial's cry for freedom is for us to soldier on beyond the loud noises of racism, xenophobia, sexism, and the rhetoric of cheap politics that seeks to favour reverse discrimination, which strangleholds our love and respect for our fellow citizens.
Nathanial reminds us there shall never be peace in the absence of justice.
Nathanial could not breath. The SA Police shot and killed him in cold face.
We will continue to confront them with unshaken bravity, until justice is done. Corrupt law enforcement officials who fail to serve society with dignity and ubuntu, must know that the community shall never rest until they are exposed and removed from such positions of trust.
Our message of justice to 7 billion on the planet is clear: whether you are a Charlie Hebdo in France, a Brenton Tarrant in New Zealand, a George Floyd in America, an Andries Tatana or a Marikana victim in South Africa, from Poland to Palestine and Cape to Cairo, the hour is nigh and the guilty shall be cleft asunder. We shall no longer tolerate those religious God-less bigots who wish to pursue a trajectory of hatred and propaganda against religious minorities who glorify God. We remind you that for every right you claim to have you have an equal responsibility to shoulder, which we will hold you to account.
Nathanial’s murder has united us in our diversity. Nathanial will want us to rise as civil society and assert justice for the voiceless.
Today we will be united- Muslim, Christian, Hindu, and Jew. We remain sons of the soil and will not succumb to being prisoners of Satan's routine.
On behalf of our Muslim community I wish to thank our Christian and Hindu brothers and sisters who rose in droves in support of the Muslim comminity against the judiciary's recent senseless ban on the Azaan in Durban. It is evident that our judiciary is captured by the hatemongers who wish to make God extinct in a Secular State that recognises freedom of religion.
We shall rise in support of victory or choose to die with dignity.
We must hold our Government leaders to account for all these senseless murders and we shall honour Nathaniel’s death with a befitting lawsuit.
Just as we honoured Hector Petersen as the first youth who laid his life, struggling against the evil of an Apartheid State during 1976, the Muslim community urge president Cyril Ramaphosa to honour our son of this African soil by naming a community facility in Eldorado Park after Nathanial Julies.
Mr President, we want you to lead in financial contribution as the first donor towards the Nathanial Julies Trust Fund for youth development, of which its core objective is to educate and develop responsible perpetual youth leadership.
To the family and friends who came from every corner of the Globe in honour of Nathanial, we thank you and urge you to support this endeavour to bring the change we want in a world free from prejudice, racism women and child abuse and injustice.
We remind the mindless:
" *And whoever saves a life it is as though he had saved the lives of all mankind* " Quran surah 5: verse 32.
May the soul of Nathanial and all fallen comrades before him, rest in eternal peace.
Hamba Kahle comrade. We salute you. You are gone but never forgotten.
Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar! Amandla!
