πŸ“– WORD OF GOD

By: Apostle C. Khomelene
Title: THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS
Date: 23 August 2026

πŸ“– Colossians 1:13

β€œWho hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.”

When you are in the kingdom of darkness, you are ruled by darkness and evil. But the Word of God tells us that God has delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His Son.

There is a difference between these two kingdoms. One is ruled by darkness, deception and the works of the enemy. The other is ruled by Christ.

πŸ“– Ephesians 2:1–3

This Scripture explains what was happening before we were born again. We were born into a fallen nature and were naturally walking according to the course of this world and the influence of the prince of the power of the air.

The enemy has been using deception from the time of Adam and Eve. His strategy is to deceive people and make them believe what is contrary to what God has said.

That is why sometimes you feel like you are nothing. The enemy wants you to have an identity that is contrary to what God says about you.

But when you enter the Kingdom of God, God tells you who you are:

✨ You are called.
✨ You are part of a royal priesthood.
✨ You are part of a holy nation.
✨ You are a people belonging to God.

πŸ“– 1 Peter 2:9

β€œBut ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people…”

You cannot continue living like someone who belongs to darkness when God has called you into His marvellous light.

Some people want to work in darkness while they are children of light.

You have to understand which kingdom you belong to.

You have so much grace and power over sin because Jesus overcame sin and death.

When you are transferred from darkness into light, you must let go of the old things.

πŸ“– 2 Corinthians 5:17

β€œTherefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature.

Everything about you becomes new.

It is by grace.

πŸ“– Colossians 2:6–8

Now that you have received Christ, walk in Him.

Be rooted in Christ. Be established in the faith. Be careful of deception, traditions of men and teachings that are not according to Christ.

πŸ“– 1 Timothy 4:1

β€œNow the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.”

There are so many things that are taught by demons. Some teachings can be presented as traditions, beliefs or harmless practices.

We must learn to examine what we practise and believe according to the Word of God.

Not everything that is traditional is from God.

Not everything that everybody is doing should be accepted by a child of God.

πŸ“– Ephesians 6:10

β€œFinally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”

Your strength is not in yourself.

Be strong in the Lord.

The Kingdom of darkness is real, but the power of God is greater.

πŸ“– Ephesians 5:11

β€œAnd have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”

Do not hide the things of darkness in your life.

Expose them.

You are a child of light.

The enemy wants to expose you to things that will give him access to your life. Therefore, we must guard what we believe, what we practise and what we allow into our lives.

Your belief system will push you.

If you do not believe that God will take you through, fear will control you.

But when you believe God, you trust Him even when you cannot see the way forward.

Believe God and trust Him to fight for you.

πŸ”₯ THE STORY OF ELISHA

πŸ“– 2 Kings 6:15–17

The enemy had surrounded Elisha and his servant with horses and chariots.

Gehazi looked at the circumstances and became afraid.

But Elisha was not afraid because he knew that God was with them.

Elisha said:

β€œFear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”

Then Elisha prayed:

β€œLORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see.”

And immediately, God opened the young man's eyes.

He saw that the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire surrounding Elisha.

The enemy thought they were surrounded.

But in reality, the enemy was surrounded by the army of God!

πŸ™Œ What you see is not everything that exists.

Faith allows you to see beyond your circumstances.

The enemy wants you to believe that you can make it without God. He wants you to depend on yourself, your own strength and your own understanding.

But the Kingdom of God teaches us to depend on God.

When you know which kingdom you belong to, you don't have to live in fear.

You don't have to hide.

You don't have to return to the things of darkness.

You have been delivered from the power of darkness.

You have been translated into the Kingdom of God's dear Son.

Therefore:

✨ Walk as a child of light.
✨ Know your Kingdom.
✨ Know your identity.
✨ Know your authority.
✨ Know your God.

And when the enemy surrounds you, remember:

πŸ”₯ β€œThey that be with us are more than they that be with them.”

πŸ™ AMEN

Title: The Kingdom of God
Recap: The previous teaching reminded us about tithes and offerings. The Kingdom of God is like a country governed by a constitution. Whether you know the constitution or not, it still governs you. Likewise, the Bible is the constitution of every believer. It expresses the love of God, tells the account of creation, and is the inspired Word of God. God has exalted His Word, and because He is faithful, every promise He makes He fulfils. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. If there is one place where God has revealed Himself, it is through His Word. A believer cannot function without the Holy Spirit. John 16 teaches us about the ministry of the Holy Spirit. We do not depend on our own knowledge or strength, but on God. Every kingdom has a king, and our King is God. Therefore, we must seek Him above everything else.
πŸ™ Jesus said:
> "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
> β€” Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
>
We should never pursue material things more than we pursue God. The greatest blessing is knowing our Heavenly Father.
God desires to have complete authority over our lives. Christ did not die so that we could continue living for ourselves.
πŸ“– "And He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again."
β€” 2 Corinthians 5:15 (NKJV)
The Kingdom of God is about Christ and His Lordship over our lives.
Jesus further taught:
> "Assuredly, I say to you that it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven."
> β€” Matthew 19:23 (NKJV)
> And again,
> "It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
> β€” Matthew 19:24 (NKJV)
>
These verses teach us that our trust must never be in earthly riches but in God alone.
When Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, He said:
> "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
> β€” Matthew 6:9–10 (NKJV)
>
The Kingdom of God is not only where believers will go after this life; it is also God's rule operating on the earth today. As believers, we call for the operations of heaven to be established here on earth. Heaven is a place where there is no more sorrow, pain or death, and everyone there honours God's authority.
πŸ•ŠοΈ The Holy Spirit can be everywhere at the same time. When we receive Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit, who places God's mark upon us. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead now lives in us.
> "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise."
> β€” Ephesians 1:13 (NKJV)
>
We are God's sealed possession.
Just as South Africa has both righteous and unrighteous citizens, there are also people who claim to belong to God's Kingdom but still rob God.
> "Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed Me! But you say, 'In what way have we robbed You?' In tithes and offerings."
> β€” Malachi 3:8 (NKJV)
>
God has called us to become everything He created us to be and to live for His glory.
> "..that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory... having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise."
> β€” Ephesians 1:12–13 (NKJV)
>
In heaven, the Name of God is feared, honoured and glorified. Even the angels worship before Him. Yet on earth many people use His Name carelessly because they do not understand its greatness. As citizens of God's Kingdom, we are called to honour His holy Name.
Finally, we boldly enter the presence of God through the blood of Jesus Christ. We are not to walk according to the flesh or treat people according to our emotions. Jesus commands us to live differently:
> "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you."
> β€” Matthew 5:44 (NKJV)
>
✨ Conclusion: The Kingdom of God is revealed through people who live under the authority of the King. As believers, we are called to seek God first, walk by the Holy Spirit, honour His Word, obey His commands, and reflect the character of Jesus in every area of our lives.

🌿 WORD OF GOD | Sunday, 09 August 2026
πŸ‘€ PREACHER: Apostle C. Khomelene
πŸ“ TITLE: The Kingdom of God
πŸ”‘ KEY NOTES FROM LAST WEEK
To enter the Kingdom of God we must:
β€’ Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
β€’ Confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord.
β€’ Be born again.
β€’ Be baptised.
πŸ“– Romans 10:9
"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
We have been called into the Kingdom of God.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
βš”οΈ RULES OF ENGAGEMENT
πŸ“– Matthew 11:12
"From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force."
β€’ Do not look around at others.
β€’ Love God for yourself because He has called you.
β€’ There are things that move the Kingdom of God on your behalf when you do them in obedience.
God knows the plans He has for you.
πŸ“– Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
There is also a kingdom of darkness working against your purpose and future.
The Kingdom of God has principles and laws that govern us, but nothing is above God's Word.
πŸ“– Our Constitution is the Bible. It reminds us who we are and how we ought to live.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
πŸ“– REPENT AND BELIEVE
πŸ“– Mark 1:14–15
"After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. 'The time has come,' He said. 'The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!'"
You can only receive this Kingdom through repentance and faith.
How you see life is determined by what you believe. Something or someone influences every belief.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
✨ A NEW CREATION
πŸ“– 2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
When you are in Christ, you become a new creation.
Just as a baby first drinks milk before eating solid food, every believer must grow spiritually through the Word of God.
πŸ“– 2 Peter 3:18
"But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen."
Spiritual growth helps us understand how the Kingdom of God operates.
God qualifies the unqualified.
It is by graceβ€”not by power, ability or our own strength.
Whether we understand the principles of God's Kingdom or not, they still affect our lives.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
πŸ™Œ SEEK HIS PRESENCE, NOT RECOGNITION
The cry of the Church should be for the glory, grace and presence of Godβ€”not recognition.
Be found in the good books of the Father.
Everything we own on earth will remain behind.
πŸ“– Job 1:21
"Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart."
We must live to impress God, not people.
Many have lost God's glory because they seek recognition instead of His presence.
Too often we come to church focused on ourselvesβ€”our relationships, careers and personal needs.
In the Kingdom of God, it is all about Him.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
❀️ OUR GREATEST NEED
Our greatest need is the presence of God.
May we move away from everything that has taken us away from His presence.
Sometimes we become more excited about new clothes than about the One we have come to worship.
Today many believe that money, friends, marriage, cars or possessions will fulfil them.
Yet Solomon concluded:
πŸ“– Ecclesiastes 1:14
"Everything is meaningless... a chasing after the wind."
Only God's presence can truly satisfy.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
πŸ•ŠοΈ BE LED BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
We are led by the Holy Spiritβ€”not by sight.
Humble yourself before God and He will lift you up.
The way up in God's Kingdom is through humility.
πŸ“– James 4:7
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
Many want to resist the devil without first submitting to God.
There is no Kingdom of God without the Holy Spirit.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
πŸ”₯ WE NEED REVIVAL
We need Him now more than ever.
We need revival.
Many fail because they choose to walk alone.
πŸ“– Ecclesiastes 4:9
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labour."
We need the leading of the Holy Spirit.
We cannot continue to be led by emotions, feelings or circumstances.
πŸ“ KEY TAKEAWAYS
βœ” Believe, repent, be born again and be baptised.
βœ” The Bible is the Constitution of God's Kingdom.
βœ” Grow daily in grace and in the knowledge of Christ.
βœ” Seek God's presence above recognition.
βœ” Live to please God, not people.
βœ” Everything on earth is temporary.
βœ” Humble yourself before God.
βœ” Submit to God before resisting the devil.
βœ” Be led by the Holy Spirit.
βœ” Pursue God's presence and revival above all else.
May we seek first His Kingdom, walk in His presence, and allow the Holy Spirit to lead us daily. Amen.
