Pentecost
(also called Whit Sunday, Whitsunday or Whitsun) is a Christian holiday that takes place on the 49th day (50th day when inclusive counting is used) after Easter.
It commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles of Jesus, Mary, and other followers of Christ, while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks, as described in the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 2:1–31).[2][3][4] Pentecost marks the "Birthday of the Church".[4]

While I parent many children, one of my greatest recent joys has been "parenting" moms through the Pregnancy Crisis Centre.
These moms inspire me, surprise me and bring me so much hope for our future.

I also get the immense privilege of meeting, celebrating and praying for little ones as they arrive in the world. I have held and celebrated more babies in the last year than most people do in a lifetime.

Children should arrive in a world where they are seen, welcomed and celebrated... This photo is a picture of this dreamed realised - wrapped up in newborn skin.
There is so much gratitude this mother's day.

Ascension Day, celebrated today Thursday, May 14, 2026 (40 days after Easter), commemorates the Christian belief that Jesus Christ physically ascended into heaven in the presence of his apostles, marking the end of his earthly ministry. It signifies Jesus' exaltation, his role as a reigning king, and the promise of his return.
